Senior Data & AI Strategy Consultant

Demand for our Data & AI strategy services is growing fast. To keep up, we are looking for senior consultants to join our team. As a Senior Strategy Consultant – Data & AI, you lead Data & AI engagements all the way from strategy to implementation, helping clients get real, measurable value out of data and AI. It usually starts with shaping the strategy together with the client (selecting the right use cases, defining roadmaps, aligning stakeholders, checking business impact), followed by an implementation track in which you turn that strategy into reality, coordinating a mix of implementation and expert profiles. You will also help ‘debug’ Data & AI organizations, for example by reshaping their operating model or ways of working, to ensure they get meaningful value from their initiatives in a sustainable way.

From the start, you play a key role in the engagement and contribute to the client relationship, with a clear track to leading larger engagements and teams. You’ll work side by side with C-level and senior management and with technical experts from both Datashift and the client.

A few examples of recent engagements (anonymized):

• A large multinational struggled to get value from a fragmented landscape of AI initiatives. We led the team that defined a short- and long-term roadmap to bring focus and deliver early value while laying the fundamentals long term.

• The Belgian branch of a large multinational wanted to use AI to return to profitability but struggled to find the right use cases. We helped select them, then guided the build and scale-up of a voicebot in production.

• Following the merger of different data & IT teams, we were asked to identify pain points and potential for improvement. Together with our technical experts we defined a target architecture and redefined the needed roles and way of working in the organization

Your responsibilities

As a Senior Strategy Consultant – Data & AI, you will:

• Lead Data & AI strategy engagements end to end, from framing the business challenge and defining strategic options to building the roadmap and driving implementation.

• Act as a trusted advisor to C-level and senior stakeholders, challenging their thinking and shaping their Data & AI agenda and organization.

• Design the operating models and ways of working that allow Data & AI organizations to deliver real value.

• Bridge strategy and delivery: work hand in hand with Datashift’s technical teams and steer execution on business outcomes.

• Lead and coach multidisciplinary teams, and help build our Strategy practice through presales, offering development and recruiting.

Your qualifications

• Master’s degree in Business Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics or a related field.

• 3–6 years of relevant experience, preferably in strategy consulting with exposure to Data, Analytics or AI projects.

• In-depth technical knowledge and/or coding experience is certainly welcome but not required.

• A track record of owning workstreams or leading client engagements, and the drive to run them end to end.

• Experience translating strategic recommendations into concrete roadmaps, initiatives or implementation programs.

• A solid understanding of how Data & AI impact organizations, their operating models and ways of working.

• Comfortable working with senior stakeholders while remaining close to day-to-day project delivery.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• A strategic thinker with a hands-on and pragmatic approach to delivery.

• Fluent in English and Dutch or French.
