Position Overview

The Senior Data Analyst, Health Plan Operations delivers the operational reporting and analytics that drive the US Family Health Plan's performance and regulatory compliance. The analyst designs, builds, and maintains reporting on service-level agreements (SLAs), government/contract metrics, grievances and appeals, enrollment, and other operational KPIs — sourcing and validating data, automating dashboards, and translating results into insight that supports operational decisions and government reporting.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Reporting & Analytics

  • Design, build, and automate dashboards and reports covering SLAs, government/contract metrics, clinical metrics, grievances, appeals, enrollment, and service performance.
  • Analyze operational trends, drivers, and root causes; translate findings into clear, actionable recommendations for leadership.
  • Produce accurate, timely, audit-ready data for government and contract reporting (DHA/TRICARE) and regulatory data calls.

Data Engineering & Management

  • Extract, transform, and integrate data from operational, claims, and membership systems using SQL and related tools.
  • Build and maintain reusable datasets, data models, and documented reporting logic, definitions, and lineage.
  • Establish data-validation and reconciliation routines to ensure accuracy, integrity, and consistency.

Insight & Visualization

  • Develop self-service dashboards and visualizations (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) that make performance transparent to stakeholders.
  • Partner with leaders to define metrics, targets, and thresholds and to interpret results.

Collaboration & Governance

  • Partner with operations, compliance, clinical, vendor management, and customer experience to define reporting needs and standards.
  • Support data-governance and quality initiatives across operational reporting.

Requirements

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in data analytics, statistics, health informatics, computer science, business, or a related field.
  • Minimum 4 years of data analysis/reporting experience, preferably in health plan operations or managed care.
  • Experience with SLA/operational and government/regulatory reporting preferred.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong SQL and data-analysis skills; proficiency with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau) and advanced Excel.
  • Ability to translate business questions into robust analyses and clear reporting.
  • Strong data-quality, validation, and documentation discipline.
  • Knowledge of health plan operations, SLAs, and TRICARE/USFHP preferred.

Other Requirements

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain U.S. Government personnel security clearance as a condition of employment.
