Sr. Data Analyst - Mobility Global
About the Role
The Data Operations team plays a critical role in powering automotiveMastermind's data-driven products and customer experiences. We ingest, validate, and transform data from a wide variety of automotive sources, including Dealer Management Systems (DMS), OEM incentive programs, vehicle sales and service records, customer ownership data, and other third-party datasets.
As a Data Analyst, you will become a subject matter expert in automotive retail data and dealership operations. You will develop a deep understanding of how vehicle sales, service activity, incentives, inventory, and customer lifecycle data flow through our platform and ultimately drive predictive analytics and targeted marketing solutions for our dealer partners.
This role combines analytical problem-solving, data quality management, and automotive business expertise. You will work closely with vendors, engineering, product, customer success, and dealer-facing teams to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and business value of critical automotive datasets. Your work will directly impact the effectiveness of our products and the success of thousands of dealers and millions of consumers.
What You'll Do
- Become a trusted expert in automotive retail data, including vehicle sales, service transactions, incentive programs, customer ownership cycles, and dealership operations.
- Monitor, analyze, and troubleshoot data quality issues across complex ingestion, transformation, and delivery pipelines.
- Investigate and resolve data-related issues under time-sensitive conditions while providing clear communication to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Develop a strong understanding of automotiveMastermind's data ecosystem, including data extraction, ingestion, transformation, enrichment, and quality control processes.
- Partner with vendors, product teams, and engineering teams to identify root causes and drive long-term solutions.
- Resolve customer and internal support requests, applying sound judgment to distinguish between data quality issues and system-related issues.
- Query and analyze large datasets using SQL, Excel, and other analytical tools to validate data quality and uncover actionable insights.
- Assess the impact and scope of data issues and support mitigation efforts with urgency and precision.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance operational efficiency, data quality, and customer outcomes.
- Independently lead projects that support company goals and improve the value delivered to dealer partners.
- Continuously evaluate performance, seek feedback, and identify opportunities to improve processes and outcomes.
What Makes Someone Successful in This Role
- Strong curiosity about the automotive industry and how dealers operate.
- Ability to connect data issues to real-world dealership processes, customer experiences, and business outcomes.
- Excellent analytical thinking and attention to detail.
- Strong sense of ownership and accountability.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and competing deadlines.
- Effective communicator who can bridge conversations between technical and business audiences.
Minimum Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional experience in data analysis, data operations, business operations, customer support, or a related field.
- Direct experience working within the automotive retail industry, automotive technology sector, dealership operations, OEM programs, or automotive data environments.
- Working knowledge of dealership operations, including vehicle sales, service, incentives, customer retention, or ownership lifecycle processes.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, and data analysis functions.
- Intermediate SQL proficiency and experience querying large datasets.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous situations and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Experience managing multiple priorities while balancing short-term issue resolution and longer-term improvements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with Dealer Management System (DMS) data or automotive retail technology platforms.
- Experience with OEM incentive programs, vehicle sales reporting, service operations data, or customer retention analytics.
- Experience with Salesforce or other CRM platforms.
- Experience with customer support or ticket management systems.
- Familiarity with data quality, data governance, or data operations best practices.
- Experience supporting production data environments.
This is a hybrid role with in-office expectations determined by location and subject to change based on evolving business needs.
