The Role
We are looking for a Senior Data Analyst to lead data-driven decision-making at Cinch. You will analyse complex datasets, identify trends, and turn them into strategic insights that improve business performance.
You will design and implement data models, build dashboards, and partner with cross-functional teams. The role involves advanced statistical analysis, predictive modelling, and data visualisation using SQL and Python, alongside extensive hands-on experience with BI tools. You should be an expert in dimensional modelling, including fact tables, dimension tables, and star schemas.
This is a team lead and individual contributor role. You will manage a team of data analysts, mentor and coach them, and review their work for correctness and integrity before it reaches the business.
You are also expected to be AI-literate and comfortable working with both Claude Desktop and Claude Code. We expect responsible AI usage, and the correctness of all work submitted remains the analyst's own responsibility.

Responsibilities
Analysis & Insights
- Understand business requirements and plan solutions to meet data needs
- Conduct advanced statistical analysis and predictive modelling to surface trends and opportunities
- Drill down into data and prepare reports with the highest level of accuracy
- Define new KPIs and measure them consistently across datasets
- Design and maintain dimensional data models (fact tables, dimension tables, star schemas)
- Collect data from multiple sources, then normalise, refine, and prepare it for analytics and visualisation
- Partner with IT and business teams to establish data-driven policies and strategies across the organisation
- Build, test, and publish dashboards and reports on our BI platform (Tableau, Power BI, or Qlik), and schedule refreshes
- Create wireframes and beta dashboards with a focus on user experience, correctness, and visibility
- Monitor reports and dashboards, and make changes as needed
- Resolve data and performance issues in workbooks and data sources

Must-haves
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)
- 6–8 years of experience in data analytics, including at least 2 years leading or mentoring analysts
- Advanced SQL and Python for data manipulation, statistical analysis, and predictive modelling
- Expert knowledge of dimensional modelling (fact tables, dimension tables, star schemas)
- Extensive experience building and managing dashboards and reports in BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Qlik
- Strong knowledge of data architecture, data mapping, data analysis, and data visualisation
- Ability to manipulate and blend data from multiple sources to design dashboards and visualisations
- Working proficiency with AI tools, including Claude Desktop and Claude Code, and sound judgement on responsible use
- Experience in fintech, e-commerce, or subscription businesses
- Experience with cloud data warehouses and modern data stack tools
- Experience defining data access controls and governance in a BI environment
