The resource will work closely with business stakeholders, Business Analysts, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), Developers, and enterprise architecture teams to ensure data models meet business needs, support system integration, and align with enterprise data modelling standards and information management practices.
The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in relational database management systems (RDBMS), SQL, source-to-target data mapping, data analysis, and data modelling tools, with the ability to independently research, design, validate, and communicate effective data architecture solutions in a complex and distributed IT environment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement data architecture solutions for application development in complex and distributed IT environments.
  • Determine data flows, data distribution, database locations, and appropriate data access methods.
  • Review and analyze business needs, requirements, existing IT applications, and associated data structures to design effective target data models.
  • Review and analyze source data models and databases for existing MECP applications.
  • Analyze, design, and develop logical data model specifications for target systems.
  • Create, develop, maintain, and manage logical and physical data models in accordance with established standards and requirements.
  • Conduct detailed research and data analysis to assess existing data structures, identify gaps, and develop effective IT data model designs.
  • Develop source-to-target data mappings and validate data transformation requirements to ensure data consistency, accuracy, and completeness.
  • Apply strong SQL and RDBMS expertise to perform in-depth data analysis, investigate data structures, and confirm or validate data.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to ensure target data models adequately address business requirements and data needs.
  • Work with development teams to support the preparation and development of technical artefacts and implementation deliverables.
  • Coordinate with Business Analysts, SMEs, Developers, Business Architects, Information Architects, Solution Architects, and Technology Architects to ensure the quality and alignment of IT deliverables.
  • Support related IT initiatives to ensure alignment with enterprise data modelling standards, architecture requirements, and applicable client policies.
  • Apply industry best practices and relevant IT trends to data architecture and modelling activities.
  • Conduct independent research using multiple sources to identify appropriate data modelling approaches, technologies, and practices.
  • Communicate data modelling specifications, design decisions, data mappings, and analysis findings clearly to technical and business stakeholders.
  • Provide information-sharing and technical support to IT architects, including Business, Information, Solution, and Technology Architects, as required.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision, adapt quickly to changing requirements, and manage assigned deliverables effectively.
