We are looking for a Senior Data Architect with Microsoft Purview for our Big 4 client and their upcoming projects. We're looking for a hands-on architect with real-world experience implementing, configuring, and operating Microsoft Purview in enterprise environments. The role combines data architecture and data governance design with client-facing consulting: you will lead workshops, design solutions, and drive the Purview implementation from setup to day-to-day operation. This is not a purely advisory position.
This is a long-term contract position with projects for candidates based in the EU.
Responsibilities
Lead the implementation and configuration of Microsoft Purview in enterprise client environments.
Design data architecture and data governance solutions with Microsoft Purview at the core.
Set up and manage metadata management: data source registration and scanning, classifications, business glossary, and lineage.
Build and maintain the Data Catalog to enable data discovery across the organisation.
Independently prepare and lead client workshops to gather requirements and align on solution design.
Act as a consultant to client stakeholders, translating business needs into governance and Purview solutions.
Assess design options and recommend pragmatic, scalable, standards-aligned solutions.
Produce architecture and governance artefacts: solution designs, design decisions, implementation and operating guidelines.
Support the transition of Purview into day-to-day operation and guide other members of the implementation team.
Work Conditions
Start Date: ASAP / upcoming projects
Location: Remote for EU based candidates.
Long-term contract-based role

Hands-on experience implementing and configuring Microsoft Purview in a real enterprise environment (not only a PoC or training), with verifiable project references.
Strong experience with metadata management: data source scanning, classification, business glossary, and data lineage.
Practical experience building and operating a Data Catalog.
Solid understanding of data governance frameworks, data ownership, and stewardship models.
Experience independently leading workshops and designing solutions end-to-end.
Strong ownership, structured communication, and the ability to drive decisions to resolution.
Ability to participate in the discussions and lead the technical discussions
Have a consultancy mindset → always try to find a solution for the client
Make decisions about the solution and design
