This role partners with business leaders, program teams, and technical stakeholders to define meaningful measures, develop scalable reporting solutions, and improve how the organization uses data to make decisions. The analyst designs and maintains Power BI products, supports modern Microsoft data platforms, strengthens data quality and governance, and helps users confidently adopt self-service analytics.
Why Join Us?
At MTSI, you’ll work alongside experienced professionals to drive meaningful change through data. You’ll have opportunities to lead, mentor, and innovate, all while contributing to projects that shape organizational strategy and success. We foster a culture of collaboration, growth, and data-driven decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Partnership & Analytics Delivery
  • Partner with stakeholders across the enterprise to clarify business questions, gather requirements, define KPIs, and translate needs into practical analytics solutions.
  • Lead assigned analytics and reporting work from discovery through deployment, including scope, milestones, testing, stakeholder review, documentation, and adoption support.
  • Analyze trends, performance drivers, and operational results, then communicate findings in a clear and decision-oriented manner.
  • Provide responsive ad hoc analysis while identifying opportunities to convert recurring requests into governed, reusable solutions.
Business Intelligence Products

  • Create intuitive visual experiences using sound information design, accessible layouts, consistent definitions, and audience-appropriate storytelling.
  • Use DAX, Power Query, SQL, and related tools to prepare, model, validate, and present data from enterprise sources.
  • Monitor report accuracy, refresh reliability, usability, and performance; troubleshoot issues and continuously improve high-value products.
  • Curate the enterprise report catalog, promote reuse, and support the retirement or consolidation of redundant and legacy reporting.
Data Integration, Quality & Governance
  • Build and maintain reporting datasets and dimensional models using data warehouse practices such as facts, dimensions, and star schemas.
  • Work with Microsoft Fabric, Azure data services, SQL Server, APIs, and existing data integration processes to support scalable analytics.
  • Validate data for accuracy, completeness, consistency, and appropriate use before release to business users.
  • Follow enterprise data governance, security, privacy, records, and access-control requirements; clearly document limitations and approved definitions.
  • Document data lineage, report logic, business rules, data definitions, technical dependencies, and support procedures.
Automation, AI & Continuous Improvement
  • Use Power Automate and platform-native capabilities to streamline repeatable reporting and notification workflows where appropriate.
  • Apply approved AI-assisted analytics capabilities, including Copilot-enabled features, natural-language summaries, anomaly detection, and explanatory visuals, with human validation and governance controls.
  • Evaluate emerging capabilities across Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, and the broader Microsoft data ecosystem; share practical recommendations, patterns, and reusable assets.
  • Identify reporting and workflow inefficiencies and partner with business and technical teams to implement measurable improvements.
Enablement & Team Contribution
  • Provide guidance, training, and support that helps business users interpret data and use self-service analytics effectively.
  • Participate in peer reviews, testing, knowledge sharing, cross-training, and backup coverage for essential analytics services.
  • Contribute to team standards for development, version control, release management, documentation, and analytics quality.
Qualifications:

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in data analytics, information systems, computer science, statistics, mathematics, economics, finance, business, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
  • At least 5 years of experience in business intelligence, data analysis, reporting, business operations, or a related discipline.

  • Strong analytical judgment, attention to detail, organization, and ability to manage work independently while collaborating across teams.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

Desired Skills
  • Advanced Power BI data modeling, DAX, Power Query, report performance optimization, or paginated reporting experience.
