Senior Data Engineer

The Data Team: The data team sits within the product organisation which consists of both the Data Engineering and Data Science teams. This position would see you being the second data engineer within the business and allow you the opportunity to steer the future of this division. Also allow you to collaborate closely with product managers, BI teams, back-end engineers and operation teams. As a leading business with millions of customers, hundreds of thousands of monthly transactions, this is a great opportunity for you to work with a large and growing data-set, train machine learning models and support BI dashboards. Currently the team is focussed on: Building and maintaining the data ingestion pipelines, developed in Python using Meltano framework. Developing data transformations with their Snowflake data platform, using dbt. Working on data integration with the two companies acquired in 2021. Designing and implementing a data warehouse using dimensional modelling techniques to support machine learning and reporting requirements. Role Responsibilities In this role, you will: Optimise existing, as well as design and implement new data flows for ingesting and transforming multiple data sources into the Snowflake data platform. Deliver data solutions with agreed organisational standards Be responsible for developing and documenting data architecture. Advise the business on how to collect data to provide datasets for future data science projects. Be responsible for managing the data pipeline that powers the work the BI team is doing, balancing working on the long term roadmap with and implementing changes with immediate impact. Be creating tests for validating data quality and the stability of the data platform, and maintaining alerting systems to ensure smooth operations About You: Experience in data engineering, data pipelining and automation Proficient in python, SQL & cloud data warehousing solutions Strong understanding of ELT (or ETL) processes Experience with large datasets ------- Benefits Package: 25 days holiday, with an additional day off for your birthday, plus bank holidays, totalling 34 days, per annum.
