About the Role
Join a data infrastructure team building a platform that turns information from multiple sources into reliable, up-to-date company intelligence. You will own the platform end-to-end, from ingestion architecture to production operations, supporting data products with trusted records.
What You'll Do
Design and build a multi-source platform for concurrent ingestion, event-driven processing, and orchestrated batch workflows.
Ingest data from provider APIs, webhooks, files, and web scraping, with rate limiting and robust failure handling.
Orchestrate scheduled workflows and historical backfills using tools such as Airflow, Dagster, or Prefect.
Build queue-based event systems with retries, dead-letter handling, and controlled replay.
Preserve original data in cloud storage and transform it with dbt into raw, standardized, and curated layers.
Implement idempotent loading, data contracts, validation, pipeline tests, freshness monitoring, and failure alerts.
Design and optimize PostgreSQL schemas and loading patterns, and integrate enrichment and LLM-based structured extraction.
What We're Looking For
At least 5 years building and operating production data platforms, with ownership from architecture through ongoing operations; 8 or more years is a plus.
Production experience with workflow orchestration such as Airflow, Dagster, Prefect, or Temporal, including dependencies, retries, and failure recovery. Airflow is preferred.
Hands-on production experience with dbt and Google Cloud Platform.
Strong Python skills, including asynchronous HTTP and concurrent processing with asyncio, aiohttp, or HTTPX, plus strong SQL and PostgreSQL skills.
Experience with messaging or task queues, data contracts, raw and curated storage, retention policies, automated validation, and monitoring.
Web scraping experience with tools such as Scrapy, Playwright, Selenium, or Beautiful Soup is valuable, as is experience with entity resolution, data enrichment, or LLM-based extraction.
Experience building platforms from scratch or working with broad ownership in an early-stage team is a plus.
Compensation & Benefits
Base salary: $120,000 to $160,000 USD annually. Visa sponsorship is not available.
Location
Remote within the United States. New York-based candidates are welcome, but New York residency is not required.
