What You Can Expect

We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to build, maintain, and improve data solutions that address business needs across multiple departments. This is a hands-on individual contributor role with technical leadership responsibilities. The Senior Data Engineer will contribute directly to project delivery while providing technical guidance and mentorship to other data engineers.

The role requires strong experience with Snowflake, dbt, Dagster, and SQL, as well as the ability to understand business pain points and translate them into practical data solutions. The engineer will work with stakeholders across business departments, sometimes in a customer-facing capacity, and will move between short-term projects as priorities change. They will also monitor and maintain existing dbt pipelines and help ensure their ongoing reliability and health.

Work Location: Bangalore
Work Mode: Hybrid (3 Days in office)
Shift Timing - 11:00 AM - 8:00 PM

How You'll Create Impact

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and data models using Snowflake, dbt, and Dagster.
• Write, review, troubleshoot, and optimize SQL queries for data transformation, analysis, and reporting.
• Monitor existing dbt pipelines, investigate failures and performance issues, and take appropriate steps to maintain pipeline reliability and health.
• Troubleshoot data quality and availability issues, identify root causes, and implement sustainable improvements.
• Work directly with stakeholders across business departments to understand their processes, pain points, and data needs.
• Apply a customer-centric approach when engaging with stakeholders, communicate clearly, and follow through on agreed deliverables.
• Translate business and functional requirements into well-defined technical solutions.
• Quickly familiarize yourself with unfamiliar data sets, understand their structure and meaning, assess their quality, and determine how they can support business needs.
• Deliver short-term, cross-functional projects, adapting to new subject areas, systems, stakeholders, and priorities.
• Lead technical work on assigned projects while remaining hands-on in design, development, troubleshooting, and delivery.
• Guide and mentor other data engineers through collaboration, knowledge sharing, and constructive technical feedback.
• Promote sound engineering practices, including testing, documentation, version control, code quality, and pipeline monitoring.
• Identify opportunities to improve data workflows, platform performance, pipeline observability, and the usability of data products.
• Communicate project status, technical considerations, and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
