What's In It For You

Salary: 95-105k + Bonus

Benefits: Pension, Healthcare, dental, Vision, 25 days' annual leave

Setup: Hybrid, Dublin, 3 days onsite.

Ownership: Take technical ownership of an established data platform and help shape its future architecture.

Why This Role

I'm working with an international investment group managing around billions across hedge funds, private equity, venture capital and other asset classes.

They're hiring a Senior Data Engineer to take ownership of a mature data platform with over 70 Snowflake databases and pipelines processing millions of records daily.

The platform has grown considerably, and there's now a need to improve reliability, tackle technical debt and review the architecture to support future growth.

This is a hands-on engineering role. You'll spend plenty of time working with pipelines and code, but you'll also have a say in technical direction and work directly with senior stakeholders.

What You'll Actually Be Doing

  • Building, maintaining and improving data pipelines and API integrations.
  • Improving platform reliability, data quality, monitoring and testing.
  • Tackling technical debt and reviewing the existing architecture.
  • Working with Python, Spark, AWS, Snowflake, Databricks and Airflow.
  • Improving CI/CD processes and infrastructure automation using Terraform.
  • Working with operations and analytics teams to deliver reliable, usable data.

What They're Looking For

  • Strong experience with Python, Spark and AWS.
  • Experience building and maintaining production data pipelines.
  • Solid understanding of data architecture, modelling and data quality.
  • Experience with Terraform, CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code.
  • Comfortable making architectural decisions while remaining hands-on.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Financial services experience would be particularly valuable.

Bonus if you have: Datadog or dbt experience.

The Culture

A relatively small Dublin office of just over 20 people, with close collaboration across Dublin and London.

You'll have direct exposure to senior leadership and work in an environment where people are expected to be flexible and take responsibility.
