A well-established Swiss bank is modernising its data platform and needs a senior technical leader to own the data warehouse architecture and guide the team through the next phase.

The opportunity

This is a hands-on technical lead role in a small, collaborative data team. You’ll be the go-to authority on data modelling and architecture, working closely with the team lead on platform direction. The current platform is built on Data Vault 2.0 and Azure, with a clear roadmap towards a modern cloud data platform and future AI and analytics use cases.

What you’ll do

• Own the target architecture for the data warehouse and steer key technical decisions
• Strengthen and extend the existing Data Vault 2.0 model, with a focus on history, data quality and performance
• Set and enforce engineering standards, and lead code and design reviews
• Develop and tune data pipelines using Azure Data Factory and SQL
• Mature CI/CD and automated testing in Azure DevOps
• Assess modern platforms (e.g. Databricks, Snowflake) and shape a realistic migration path
• Partner with product owners, business stakeholders and BI teams on all things data

What you’ll bring

• Proven experience as a senior data engineer or DWH architect
• Deep, hands-on Data Vault 2.0 expertise, plus dimensional modelling
• Strong Azure data stack experience (ADF, Azure SQL, Storage, DevOps)
• Excellent SQL in production environments
• Confidence leading technical standards and reviews
• Pragmatic judgement on quick fixes versus long-term architecture
• Databricks or Snowflake exposure is a plus
• Fluent German
