Job Summary

As a Senior Data Platform Engineer you will play a critical part in replacing legacy Excel/VBA-based systems with a scalable, cloud-based data ecosystem leveraging Microsoft Azure, Databricks, Python, and modern data engineering practices.

Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Data Platform Engineer to join a strategic transformation initiative focused on modernizing financial projection and reporting platforms. This position will be full-time and hybrid in Mandaluyong City.

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, building, and optimizing enterprise-grade data platforms, enabling advanced analytics, automated data integration, and modern reporting solutions that support data-driven decision-making across the organization.
What You'll Do

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable, secure, and cost-efficient data pipelines, data lakes, and data warehouse solutions on Microsoft Azure
  • Develop and optimize data integration frameworks using Databricks, Python, PySpark, and Azure Data Factory
  • Re-engineer legacy VBA and Excel-based business logic into scalable Python-based solutions
  • Upgrade and enhance enterprise data marts to support projections, assumptions, and analytical reporting requirements
  • Implement automated data integration processes across multiple enterprise data sources
  • Enable parallel scenario computations and high-performance processing capabilities
  • Prepare high-level and detailed technical designs for data solutions
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, analysts, and delivery teams to define and implement data requirements
  • Design and support web-based solutions for managing business assumptions and projection inputs
  • Support the modernization of reporting and visualization capabilities using Power BI and other analytics tools
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize platform performance, reliability, and operational efficiency
  • Apply software engineering best practices, including testing, security, deployment automation, and CI/CD
  • Participate in Agile delivery processes, including Scrum and Kanban ceremonies
  • Stay current with emerging cloud, data, and analytics technologies and recommend continuous improvements

What You'll Need

Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related discipline
  • 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Platform Engineering, or Software Engineering
  • Proven experience designing, developing, and supporting integrated enterprise data platforms
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure services, including Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform
  • Experience developing microservices and data integration solutions using Python and/or TypeScript
  • Strong experience developing modern data pipelines and data warehouse solutions using Databricks, Python, and PySpark
  • Practical experience with relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL
  • Experience integrating data from SharePoint Online, Excel files, and enterprise systems
  • Working knowledge of SDLC methodologies and Agile frameworks such as Scrum or Kanban
  • Experience working within collaborative teams of five or more members
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams

Preferred:

  • Experience with Power BI Semantic Models, DAX, and REST API integrations
  • Azure, Databricks, Scrum, DevOps, or Secure Coding certifications
  • Experience building enterprise reporting and dashboarding solutions
  • Exposure to financial systems, forecasting platforms, or treasury-related applications
  • Experience supporting cloud-native data modernization initiatives

Physical Demands

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions
  • Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.
  • Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor
