Bachelor's degree in information technology, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
At least five years of experience in data engineering, platform engineering, or software engineering, including architecture, design, and development of integrated systems.
Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure cloud services, Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and modern data engineering practices.
Experience developing scalable data pipelines and modern data warehouse solutions using Databricks, Python, and PySpark.
Practical experience with relational databases, especially PostgreSQL.
Experience developing microservices for data integration using TypeScript or Python.
Experience ingesting data from SharePoint Online, Excel files, and other enterprise data sources.
Proven experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
Familiarity with SDLC, project management practices, and Agile frameworks such as Scrum or Kanban.
Ability to work effectively with senior executives and stakeholders from diverse cultural backgrounds.
Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of Power BI semantic models, DAX, and REST API integration.
Relevant certifications in secure coding, Scrum, DevOps, Azure, or Databricks.
Experience working in collaborative teams of five or more members.
Exposure to financial systems, projection models, assumptions management, or enterprise reporting modernization.
Technical Skill Expectations
Required: Microsoft Azure, Azure DevOps, CI/CD, Databricks, Python, PySpark, PostgreSQL, data pipelines, modern data warehouse design, TypeScript or Python microservices,SharePoint Online and Excel data ingestion, Terraform, secure coding practices, SDLC, and Agile delivery.
Advantageous: Power BI semantic models, DAX, REST API integration, Scrum, Kanban, Azure or Databricks certifications, and experience with financial projection or reporting platforms.
💼 How can you contribute to the team?
The Senior Data Platform Engineer will design, develop, optimize, and support the enterprise data platform for the FPALMS modernization initiative. The role will help build secure and cost-efficient Azure data lake and warehouse architectures, implement reliable data pipelines, support analytics enablement, and translate business and delivery requirements into working technical solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Design, build, and maintain scalable, secure, and cost-efficient data pipelines and data lake or warehouse architectures on Microsoft Azure.
Support the adoption and implementation of modern data engineering tools and frameworks, including Databricks and Azure Data Factory.
Monitor, optimize, and troubleshoot data platform performance, reliability, and operational efficiency.
Collaborate with product delivery teams and business stakeholders to define data requirements and deliver dependable data solutions.
Prepare high-level and detailed technical designs for data solutions.
Apply best practices in software development, testing, deployment, and CI/CD automation.
Develop and maintain secure, unit-tested code for platform components, data integration services, and related engineering deliverables.
Participate in Agile delivery processes, including Scrum and Kanban ceremonies.
Stay current with emerging data and analytics technologies and recommend continuous improvements.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Reporting and Coordination
The Senior Data Platform Engineer will report to the Product Delivery Manager and/or designated staff. The role will work closely with business stakeholders, data analysts, analytics engineers, product delivery teams, and other teams within the organization.
High-level and detailed technical designs.
Unit-tested and secure code.
Interactive and insightful dashboards and data products where required.
