Your opportunity: As a Senior Data Scientist in Data and Analytics Centre of Excellence (CoE) , you will lead the development and enhancement of advanced analytics and machine learning solutions across key business domains. You will partner closely with stakeholders to understand strategic objectives, identify high-value opportunities, and deliver practical, data-driven solutions that create measurable business impact. You bring strong business acumen, curiosity and a bias for action in a dynamic environment. You are an experienced and pragmatic Data Scientist who is energised by solving complex, real-world problems. You excel at working across teams, shaping analytical approaches, and managing expectations with clarity and confidence. You anticipate challenges early, adapt your approach when priorities shift, and maintain a strong focus on delivering practical outcomes. You'll make impact by: Advanced Model Development: Design, build and enhance machine learning and statistical models to address complex business problems and drive strategic decision-making. Data Analysis & Insight Generation: Conduct in-depth analysis across diverse datasets to uncover trends, patterns, and opportunities, delivering actionable insights to stakeholders. Business Problem Solving: Engage with stakeholders to understand challenges and translate them into structured analytical questions, shaping solutions that align with business priorities and customer needs. Collaboration & Capability Uplift: Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, data engineers and business teams, sharing best practices and contributing to a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the CoE. Documentation & Communication: Produce clear documentation of methodologies, models, and analytical outputs, and communicate findings in a compelling and accessible way to both technical and non-technical audiences. What you’ll bring: Machine Learning & Statistical Modelling: 5-8 years hands-on experience designing, developing, deploying and iterating on machine learning models and advanced statistical techniques. Programming & Data Manipulation: Strong proficiency in Python, SQL, and dbt with deep experience using data manipulation and modelling libraries, as well as visualisation tools. Cloud Computing Proficiency: Experience using cloud environments such as AWS, Azure or GCP, and familiarity with cloud-native data science tooling and workflows. Prior working experience with Databricks is required. Domain Expertise & Problem Solving: Strong ability to apply data science within business context, with demonstrated domain understanding, creative analytical thinking, and a track record of influencing decisions through data-driven insights.
