Adaptable & Mobile: comfortable working in a distributed remote setup while ready for occasional travel to the UAE for key on-site client alignments.

Lead the end-to-end architectural design, governance, and scaling of a modernized data lakehouse ecosystem for a strategic UAE-based government initiative.
-
Establish architectural blueprints and design patterns for complex data ingestion pipelines utilizing Talend Studio.
-
Architect enterprise data governance, cataloging, profiling, and metadata frameworks utilizing Talend Data Quality and Qlik Data Catalog.
-
Design high-throughput, distributed transformation flows and low-latency analytical query layers using Apache Spark, Impala, and Apache Iceberg.
-
Provide direct technical governance, architecture review standards, and mentoring for a team of middle-to-senior data engineers.
-
Partner with delivery leads, client stakeholders, and solution partners to ensure pipeline designs strictly adhere to enterprise security, performance, and compliance benchmarks.
-
Travel periodically to the UAE as needed to participate in milestone architecture sessions and executive stakeholder workshops.
Requirements
-
Minimum 5+ years of demonstrable experience in data engineering, data lakehouse/warehouse design, and enterprise data architecture (Middle+/Senior level).
-
Proven architectural experience with Talend Studio and Talend Data Quality for large enterprise deployments.
-
Practical experience with metadata management and data discovery tools, specifically Qlik Data Catalog.
-
Strong hands-on architectural command of Apache Spark for distributed computation and Impala for interactive SQL query layers.
-
Hands-on experience designing or implementing modern table formats, specifically Apache Iceberg.
-
Fluent written and verbal English communication skills (B2+ level or higher); confidence presenting technical architectures to stakeholders is essential.
