AJEKA is building a modern Data & AI transformation capability focused on helping organisations modernise platforms, automate operations and adopt enterprise AI solutions.

We are seeking a Senior Data Specialist to provide Data Governance, Business Analysis and Data Analysis advice to our clients, and to help build these practices within AJEKA.

This is a senior, client-facing role. You will work across the data lifecycle, from governance frameworks and requirements through to data models, data designs and BI solutions, for large, regulated organisations.

You can work remotely from anywhere in Australia. If you are based in Brisbane, we expect you in our Eagle Street office two to three days per week.

The role combines:

• AI-enabled process and solution delivery
• Practice development and pre-sales contribution

You will work closely with AJEKA delivery teams and the Head of Commercial & Advisory to deliver client engagements and grow AJEKA’s Data Governance, Business Analysis and Data Analysis practices.

Key Responsibilities

Data Governance

• Develop and implement Data Governance frameworks, policies, standards and procedures for data quality, security and regulatory compliance
• Create and maintain data dictionaries, metadata repositories and business glossaries
• Monitor data quality and integrity, and fix issues where they are found
• Run audits and assessments of Data Governance processes and controls
• Act as the link between IT, legal, compliance and business teams on governance initiatives
• Train and support client staff on Data Governance principles and practices

Business & Data Analysis

• Engage stakeholders to elicit, analyse and document business and data requirements
• Deliver current-state and target-state analysis, and design improved business processes (e.g. BPMN)
• Profile, map and model data, and produce detailed data designs and data mappings
• Elicit BI and analytics requirements, including KPIs, metrics, source data and data quality expectations, and turn them into dimensional models, reports and dashboards (e.g. Power BI)
• Identify and deliver AI-enabled processes and solutions for AJEKA and clients, within the relevant policies

Practice & Commercial Contribution

• Develop business and data analysis frameworks, standards and methods for AJEKA and clients
• Contribute to pre-sales proposals and marketing materials
• Represent AJEKA at industry forums and write thought leadership content
• Uphold strong security practices to protect sensitive client data

You will ideally bring:

• 5+ years in a senior role covering Data Governance, business analysis and data analysis
• Deep knowledge of Data Governance methods, frameworks, regulation and stewardship
• Proven ability to elicit requirements, model business processes and deliver current- and target-state analysis
• Strong data analysis and modelling skills, including conceptual, logical, physical and dimensional modelling, data profiling, data mapping and lineage, plus working knowledge of SQL
• Experience on large data migration and system integration programs
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, and the confidence to take initiative
• Experience with Informatica or Microsoft Purview (preferred). Power BI, Azure Databricks and process modelling tools such as Visio or Signavio are desirable.
