Senior Delivery Manager – Public Sector Digital Transformation | Permanent or Contract

Permanent: £70,000–£80,000 plus bonus and benefits
Contract: up to £550 per day, outside IR35
Remote-first, with two days in Liverpool every other week

Lead the delivery of digital services that make a difference to public-sector users.

A well-established management consultancy business is seeking a Senior Delivery Manager to lead multidisciplinary teams delivering complex, user-centred government services. You’ll combine delivery leadership with coaching, stakeholder management and a commercial consultancy mindset.

The role

• Lead delivery across discovery, alpha, beta and live, applying GDS service standards and user-centred approaches.
• Coordinate plans across teams, manage risks and dependencies, and remove barriers to progress.
• Coach teams in agile and lean practices, improving collaboration, delivery flow and quality.
• Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders, product owners and suppliers.
• Manage budgets, commercial relationships and governance, contributing to business cases.
• Support proposals, tenders and the development of client relationships.

About you

You’ll bring a track record of delivering public-sector digital services aligned to GDS standards, alongside experience leading multidisciplinary teams through multiple stages of the service lifecycle.

You’ll be confident managing complex delivery challenges, competing priorities and senior stakeholders. Strong agile and lean coaching skills, commercial awareness and a practical focus on user needs and outcomes are essential.

Package and working arrangements

We are considering both permanent and contract applicants.
Permanent: £70,000–£80,000 basic salary plus bonus and benefits.
Contract: up to £550 per day, outside IR35. Contract duration is to be confirmed.
The client is looking for someone who can start quickly; please include your earliest available start date.

This is a remote-first position requiring two days at the client site in Liverpool every other week for workshops and meetings. You should be within practical travelling distance of Liverpool.
