The Role

The Senior Delivery (Portfolio) Manager provides delivery and commercial leadership across a portfolio of client engagements and accounts, ensuring delivery performance, resource capability and commercial outcomes remain aligned with K2's business and client expectations.

The role maintains a portfolio-wide view of delivery performance, financial position, client outcomes, resource demand and future pipeline, providing leadership and intervention where risks or opportunities extend beyond individual engagements. It owns portfolio-level resource and capability planning, balancing current and anticipated demand with available skills, capacity and workforce requirements.

The Senior Delivery (Portfolio) Manager leads through Delivery Managers and senior delivery professionals, establishing consistent delivery governance and practices across the portfolio while developing leadership capability and succession. The role maintains senior client relationships across relevant accounts and works with delivery and business leadership to support sustainable delivery and commercial performance.

Tasks and Responsibilities

Portfolio Delivery & Commercial Leadership

  • Own delivery performance across a portfolio of client engagements and accounts, maintaining a consolidated view of delivery, financial performance, risks and client outcomes and directing appropriate intervention where required.

  • Own portfolio financial performance and forecasting, working with delivery and business stakeholders to identify commercial risks, address significant variances and support sustainable portfolio performance.

  • Provide senior delivery leadership for significant client or delivery escalations that extend beyond individual engagements, ensuring appropriate recovery, decision-making and stakeholder alignment.

Resource & Capability Planning

  • Own portfolio resource and capability planning, balancing current engagement requirements and anticipated pipeline against available capacity, skills and delivery priorities.

  • Identify future capability and capacity requirements and shape appropriate workforce responses, including recruitment, development and use of external delivery capability where required.

Governance & Delivery Excellence

  • Establish and maintain appropriate delivery governance and assurance across the portfolio, ensuring consistent visibility of performance, risk and required corrective action.

  • Drive consistent application and continued improvement of K2's delivery approaches, using insight from engagement outcomes to improve delivery quality, planning and estimation.

Leadership & Client Partnership

  • Lead and develop Delivery Managers and senior delivery professionals, establishing clear accountability, building leadership capability and supporting succession across the portfolio.

  • Build effective relationships with senior client and internal stakeholders, providing delivery, commercial and capability insight that supports account planning and continued client success.

Success Indicators

  • Delivery performance across the portfolio consistently supports agreed client, commercial and business objectives, with areas of concern identified and addressed effectively.

  • Portfolio financial performance and forecasts provide a reliable view of current performance and support timely commercial and delivery decisions.

  • Resource capacity and capability remain appropriately aligned with current engagements and anticipated demand, with future requirements identified and addressed proactively.

  • Significant delivery and client risks are effectively managed across the portfolio, with appropriate intervention and recovery where required.

  • Delivery governance and practices provide consistent oversight across accounts and continue to evolve based on delivery experience and business requirements.

  • Senior client and internal stakeholders receive effective delivery and commercial leadership that supports sustainable account relationships and business outcomes.

  • Delivery Managers and senior delivery professionals demonstrate clear accountability, continued leadership development and effective succession across the portfolio.

Skills & Experience:

  • Extensive experience leading complex technology or professional services delivery across multiple client engagements or accounts within consulting, systems integration or comparable environments.

  • Experience providing portfolio-level delivery oversight, identifying performance risks and directing appropriate intervention across complex client engagements.

  • Demonstrated commercial and financial capability, including forecasting, financial performance management and using delivery and commercial insight to inform decisions.

  • Experience leading resource, capacity and capability planning against current and anticipated client demand and identifying appropriate workforce responses.

  • Experience establishing delivery governance and assurance approaches that support consistent performance, risk management and continued improvement across multiple engagements.

  • Experience building and managing relationships with senior client and internal stakeholders and contributing delivery insight to account and business planning.

  • Proven ability to lead through managers or senior delivery professionals, building accountability, leadership capability and succession across teams.
