Senior Developer I

The Senior Software Engineer I delivers high-quality software, mentors less experienced developers, and independently owns complex technical work from design through production support. This position contributes to architecture decisions, promotes engineering best practices, collaborates with cross-functional partners, and balances effective delivery with long-term maintainability and system health. Responsibilities include participating in the team’s on-call rotation and supporting production systems and incident response when needed.

• Design and deliver clean, secure, maintainable, and well-tested C#/.NET services, RESTful APIs, frameworks, and engineering tools that support Xactimate.

• Translate complex technical problems into scalable solutions and contribute to architecture and system design decisions that support reliability, performance, and maintainability.

• Collaborate with product, design, QA, and other stakeholders to deliver solutions that meet user and business needs.

• Mentor developers through technical guidance and constructive code reviews while promoting consistent engineering practices.

• Participate in on-call support, resolve production issues and defects, and improve service observability and reliability.

• Maintain efficient, reliable CI/CD and automated build, test, and deployment processes.

• Address technical debt and improve system quality, performance, security, maintainability, and team workflows.

• Use AI-assisted development tools responsibly to improve engineering productivity while validating outputs and following security requirements.

Technical Environment:

• Application development: C#, .NET, RESTful APIs, microservices, and backend services.

• Cloud and distributed systems: AWS, cloud-based services, and distributed-system practices.

• Delivery and quality: Azure DevOps, CI/CD.

• Production reliability: Performance optimization, observability, production diagnostics, incident response, and on-call support.

• Engineering practices: AI-assisted development, secure coding, dependency management, maintainability, and technical debt reduction.

• 6+ years of professional software development experience; bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.

• Strong C#/.NET skills and experience building RESTful APIs, microservices, and cloud-based solutions using AWS.

• Strong understanding of software design, system architecture, distributed systems, and the software development lifecycle.

• Experience with relational or NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, Oracle, or MongoDB.

• Experience with CI/CD, automated testing, and reliable build and deployment pipelines.

• Strong problem-solving, debugging, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

• Experience mentoring developers, reviewing code, influencing technical decisions, and delivering maintainable production software.
