Description

The Senior Developer – MuleSoft Data Integrations designs, builds, and supports the integration layer that connects Forgent Power’s enterprise applications. Working within Information Technology, this role leads the development of APIs and data flows on the MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, linking systems such as the ERP, Coupa, Salesforce, ServiceNow, HR, and manufacturing applications so that data moves accurately, securely, and on time across the business.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineer with deep MuleSoft expertise who can also set standards, guide architecture decisions, and mentor others. As Forgent Power grows across sites and adds new systems, this role will be central to building a scalable, reusable, and well-governed integration platform.

Requirements

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Integration Design & Development

? Design, develop, test, and deploy integrations and APIs on the MuleSoft Anypoint Platform using Mule 4, DataWeave, and Anypoint Studio.

? Apply API-led connectivity principles, building reusable system, process, and experience APIs that reduce point-to-point dependencies.

? Develop real-time, event-driven, and batch integrations across cloud and on-premises applications using REST, SOAP, messaging, file-based, and database patterns.

? Translate business and functional requirements from application owners into technical designs, data mappings, and interface specifications.

Architecture, Standards & Governance

? Contribute to the integration architecture and roadmap in partnership with Enterprise Applications leadership, recommending patterns, tools, and platform improvements.

? Define and enforce development standards, including naming conventions, error handling, logging, reusable templates, and API design guidelines.

? Maintain the API catalog in Anypoint Exchange and apply API Manager policies for security, throttling, and versioning.

? Lead code and design reviews to ensure quality, performance, security, and maintainability.

Operations, Support & Reliability

? Own the health of production integrations: monitor flows, alerts, and error queues, and lead incident response and root-cause analysis for integration failures.

? Tune performance and capacity, and manage runtime environments (CloudHub or Runtime Fabric), deployments, and environment configuration.

? Serve as the senior escalation point for integration issues across application teams, and manage work through the IT service management platform.

? Maintain clear technical documentation, runbooks, and support procedures.

DevOps, Security & Quality

? Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for MuleSoft deployments using source control and automated build tools.

? Develop automated unit and integration tests (e.g., MUnit) and support user acceptance and regression testing.

? Implement secure integration practices, including OAuth, certificate and secrets management, encryption, and least-privilege access, in coordination with IT security.

? Follow IT change management and support audit and IT general controls requirements for integration changes.

Collaboration & Leadership

? Partner with ERP, Coupa, Salesforce, ServiceNow, HR systems, and data and analytics teams to deliver integrations that support business priorities and projects.

? Work with external vendors and implementation partners on integration scope, design, and delivery.

? Mentor developers and analysts, and share MuleSoft and integration best practices across IT.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

? Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

? 6+ years of software development or integration engineering experience, including at least 4 years of hands-on MuleSoft development on Mule 4.

? Advanced proficiency in DataWeave, Anypoint Studio, Anypoint Exchange, API Manager, and Runtime Manager.

? Strong experience designing and building RESTful APIs (RAML or OpenAPI) and working with SOAP, JSON, XML, CSV, and flat-file formats.

? Solid understanding of integration patterns, including API-led connectivity, event-driven messaging, batch processing, and error handling and retry strategies.

? Experience integrating ERP and SaaS applications in an enterprise environment.

? Proficiency with Git-based source control, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing.

? Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical design choices to both technical and business audiences.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

? MuleSoft Certified Developer – Level 1 or Level 2; MuleSoft Certified Integration or Platform Architect a plus.

? Experience integrating Coupa, Salesforce, ServiceNow, Workday or other HRIS, or ERPs such as Oracle, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, or Epicor.

? Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment, including integrations with MES, PLM, or shop-floor systems.

? Working knowledge of Java, SQL, and cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS.

? Experience with message brokers (e.g., Anypoint MQ, Kafka) and API security standards (OAuth 2.0, JWT).

? Experience supporting SOX or IT general controls environments.

CORE COMPETENCIES

? Technical Excellence: Builds integrations that are reliable, secure, reusable, and easy to support.

? Architectural Thinking: Designs for scale and long-term maintainability, not just the immediate request.

? Ownership: Takes accountability for production health and drives issues to root cause and resolution.

? Collaboration: Works effectively with application owners, business stakeholders, vendors, and IT peers.

? Mentorship: Raises the capability of the team through code reviews, standards, and knowledge sharing.

? Continuous Improvement: Seeks opportunities to automate, simplify, and strengthen the integration platform.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Primarily office-based work with extended periods of computer use. Occasional travel to Forgent Power locations may be required to support projects or system rollouts. Some after-hours availability is needed for production deployments, on-call support, or critical incident resolution.
