Senior Digital Manufacturing Application Engineer: Additive Manufacturing GoEngineer is looking for a Senior Application Engineer with established additive manufacturing experience who enjoys solving complex manufacturing challenges and helping others succeed. In this customer-facing role, you will independently lead complex applications, serve as a trusted technical advisor, and own technical engagements from discovery through successful customer outcomes. You will also help elevate the broader technical team through mentorship, technical escalation, knowledge sharing, and approved projects that improve how we work. Additive manufacturing is at the center of the role. Senior Application Engineers are expected to bring depth in one or more technical specialties while continuing to expand their expertise across polymer and metal AM technologies and the surrounding digital manufacturing workflow. Your key contributions in this role will be: Lead complex customer applications and technical engagements with a high degree of independence and ownership. Own the technical customer journey from discovery and application evaluation through validation, training, escalation, and follow-up. Partner with sales on complex opportunities by providing industry and application expertise that helps navigate technical requirements, risks, and customer expectations. Serve as a technical escalation resource for Application Engineers and customers when an application, workflow, or technical issue requires deeper expertise. Develop and maintain subject matter expertise in one or more additive manufacturing processes, applications, materials, or related digital manufacturing technologies. Mentor and coach Application Engineers through technical guidance, application reviews, customer preparation, troubleshooting, and knowledge sharing. Deliver advanced demonstrations, benchmarks, application validation projects, customer training, and technical presentations. Identify opportunities for technical, operational, or team-development projects. Propose the approach and, when approved by management, lead the project through completion. Improve internal best practices, documentation, training, workflows, and technical resources based on lessons learned from customer and application work. Collaborate directly with technology partners and internal experts to resolve complex technical challenges and strengthen GoEngineer's collective expertise. Represent GoEngineer at customer sites, partner engagements, trade shows, technical events, and training activities. What We Are Looking For We know strong candidates may not check every box. If you have a proven additive manufacturing background and believe this role aligns with your experience, we encourage you to apply. 5+ years of relevant application engineering, additive manufacturing, or customer-facing manufacturing engineering experience. Strong hands-on experience with additive manufacturing or industrial 3D printing, including the ability to independently evaluate applications and troubleshoot technical workflows. Demonstrated ability to lead complex customer-facing technical engagements and communicate effectively with engineering, manufacturing, operations, and business audiences. Experience taking ownership of customer applications or technical projects from initial discovery through completion and follow-up. Demonstrated technical depth or specialization in one or more additive manufacturing processes, applications, materials, or related technologies. Experience mentoring, coaching, or developing other technical professionals. Strong judgment, problem-solving skills, initiative, and the ability to operate effectively with limited day-to-day direction. Ability to manage competing priorities, document work clearly, collaborate across teams, and follow through on commitments. Comfort working in a hands-on lab environment and safely handling equipment, materials, printed parts, and post-processing activities. Willingness and ability to travel approximately 30% on average. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing, industrial technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience. Experience with multiple additive manufacturing processes, materials, or industrial applications. Experience with 3D scanning, inspection, reverse engineering, metrology, or CAD tools such as SOLIDWORKS. Experience with post-processing, tooling, fixtures, part design, production workflows, quality processes, or Design for Additive Manufacturing. Experience leading internal technical projects, developing best practices, creating training, or improving team processes. Experience working directly with technology manufacturers or technical partners on complex applications or escalations. This Role Is a Great Fit If You Enjoy being the technical resource others turn to when an application or customer challenge becomes difficult. Want to deepen a technical specialty while continuing to broaden your experience across additive and digital manufacturing technologies. Enjoy mentoring other engineers and helping raise the technical capability of the team. See opportunities to improve tools, processes, training, or workflows and are willing to develop a proposal and lead the work once approved. Are comfortable taking ownership of complex customer engagements and driving the technical work through a successful outcome. This Role May Not Be a Great Fit If You Prefer a role where technical work is closely directed or primarily assigned step by step. Prefer limited customer interaction, presentations, travel, or technical escalation responsibility. Are not interested in mentoring others or sharing technical expertise across the team. Prefer to focus only on assigned customer work rather than identifying opportunities to improve how the team operates.
