As a Senior Director, Business Operations, your work at Tegria will focus on leading Tegria’s global healthcare IT consulting operations, setting direction for operational processes, resource management, utilization, forecasting, and performance. You will connect sales demand, consultant capacity, and delivery needs to support effective resource deployment, healthy engagement margins, and profitable growth. You will own the global operating model and the effectiveness of resource management and utilization, lead the operational integration of acquired businesses, and partner with Sales, Delivery, Finance, Talent, People & Culture, and technology leaders to establish consistent processes, reliable data, and clear accountability across regions and service lines. You will also lead the resource management and utilization professionals who report to you and shape the broader Business Operations team as needs evolve.
THE ROLE YOU PLAY
An effective Senior Director, Business Operations will help the organization on a whole achieve success through:
- Living our Tegria values: Respect Every Person, Act with Integrity, Strive for Better, Embrace Change, Deliver as a Team
- Sets direction for Tegria’s global business operations function and executes an operational roadmap aligned with business priorities, growth plans, financial objectives, and delivery needs.
- Serves as a trusted operational advisor to the Chief Strategy Officer and executive leaders, translating performance, capacity, and demand information into practical recommendations and decisions.
- Owns and evolves a global operating model connecting sales pipeline, demand forecasting, capacity planning, resource deployment, engagement operations, and performance reporting, standardizing processes and governance while allowing flexibility for regional, service-line, and client requirements.
- Leads operational integration of acquired businesses, identifying process gaps, aligning responsibilities, and implementing consistent ways of working.
- Owns the global resource-management function, including demand and capacity planning, staffing coordination, bench management, roll-offs, extensions, and pipeline-to-assignment processes.
- Partners with Finance and business leaders to establish utilization targets by role, practice, and region; remains accountable for the utilization improvement plan and resource-management team performance.
- Establishes regular reviews of available and upcoming consultant capacity against project demand, single-person time-and-expense (SPT&E) opportunities, and staffing PBC opportunities.
- Ensures each benched consultant has an actionable plan, and partners with Sales and staffing leadership so available consultants are positioned for relevant client opportunities.
- Ensures qualified internal capacity is evaluated before external hiring or subcontracting, with timely exceptions when skills, availability, location, or client requirements cannot be met internally.
- Partners with Finance on revenue and capacity forecasting, engagement margin analysis, and the financial implications of resource decisions; supports deal and statement-of-work reviews to validate staffing feasibility before commitments are made.
- Defines and monitors operational measures, including utilization, bench duration, time to staff, placement outcomes, backlog, forecast accuracy, and time-entry compliance, and translates the data into executive insights, risks, and recommended actions.
- Leads, coaches, and develops Business Operations professionals, assessing capabilities, aligning roles and accountabilities, and developing the team structure and staffing plan within approved plans.
- Delegates daily execution, removes barriers, and holds owners accountable; manages performance, development, succession, and personnel actions in accordance with Tegria policies.
- Partners with system owners and technology leaders to improve workflows, integration, and data definitions across CRM, PSA, HRIS, recruiting, and finance systems, and evaluates analytics, automation, and AI-enabled capabilities for resource matching and forecasting.
- Partners with Talent, People & Culture, Delivery, and Finance leaders to connect available capacity and forecasted demand to hiring, internal mobility, redeployment, upskilling, and reskilling; Talent retains recruiting governance and internal-mobility process ownership.
- Performs other generally related duties as assigned.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
We expect:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, operations, finance, information systems, or another relevant field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; PMP, Lean Six Sigma, or a related professional certification preferred
