As a leading European provider of high-capacity fibre network infrastructure and Data Centre to Data Centre connectivity, euNetworks operates in a dynamic, investment-intensive market where robust financial planning and analysis are essential.
euNetworks is seeking a commercially-minded Senior Director of Financial Planning & Analysis to lead financial planning, forecasting, performance reporting and business partnering across the business. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, this role will take ownership of monthly financial reporting and deliver high-quality financial insights to the Board and ExCo to shape strategy and drive performance.
Working closely with commercial and operational stakeholders, the Senior Director will act as a trusted business partner, translating financial data into actionable insights that support revenue growth, cost management and investment decisions. The role will also work closely with Business Operations to strengthen commercial performance analysis, forecasting and alignment between financial plans and sales objectives.
This is an opportunity for an experienced finance leader with a strong commercial finance background to influence business strategy and drive financial performance across a growing European digital infrastructure business.
What will you be doing?
Financial Planning & Analysis
- Lead the FP&A function, overseeing financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and performance analysis across the business.
- Lead, develop and motivate a high-performing FP&A team, setting clear objectives and building the capability needed to support the business's growth.
- Own the monthly financial reporting process, ensuring accurate, timely and insightful reporting of financial performance against budget, forecast and prior periods.
- Analyse financial results, identify key trends and variances, and provide recommendations to improve business performance.
- Continuously enhance financial models, reporting processes and analytical tools to improve the quality and efficiency of financial decision-making.
Board & ExCo Reporting
- Lead the preparation and delivery of financial reporting and performance analysis for the Board and ExCo.
- Translate complex financial information into clear, concise insights, highlighting key business drivers, risks, opportunities and recommended actions.
- Support senior leadership with financial analysis for strategic initiatives, investment decisions and business planning.
- Ensure consistency, accuracy and alignment across management reporting, financial forecasts and executive presentations.
Commercial Finance & Business Partnering
- Act as a trusted finance partner to senior stakeholders, providing commercial insight and constructive challenge to support business decisions.
- Evaluate revenue performance, margins, operating costs and investment priorities to identify opportunities for growth and improved profitability.
- Partner with functional leaders to assess financial performance, challenge assumptions and ensure accountability against agreed business objectives.
- Translate business strategy into financial plans, performance measures and actionable recommendations.
Forecasting & Financial Planning
- Lead the development and ongoing management of financial forecasts, budgets and long-range financial plans.
- Coordinate forecasting activities across relevant business functions, ensuring assumptions reflect commercial priorities and operational requirements.
- Assess forecast accuracy, identify emerging risks and opportunities, and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
- Develop scenario analyses and financial models to support strategic planning, investment decisions and business performance management.
Business Operations & Commercial Performance
- Work closely with Business Operations to align financial forecasts with sales pipelines, revenue expectations and commercial targets.
- Provide financial analysis of sales performance, customer revenue, pipeline conversion and commercial opportunities.
- Support the development of reporting and analytical tools that improve visibility of sales performance and revenue trends.
- Collaborate with Sales and Commercial teams to strengthen forecasting accuracy, performance accountability and alignment between sales plans and financial objectives.
What do we want from you?
- Significant experience leading FP&A commercial finance functions, ideally within a complex, international B2B business.
- A recognised professional accounting qualification (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent preferred
- A strong commercial finance background, with a proven ability to translate financial data into actionable business insights.
- Experience owning monthly management reporting, budgeting, forecasting and financial performance analysis.
- Experience preparing financial reports and presentations for Board and ExCo audiences.
- Demonstrable business partnering experience, including the ability to challenge and influence senior stakeholders.
- Experience working closely with Business Operations or commercial teams to support revenue forecasting, pipeline analysis and performance management.
- Strong financial modelling, analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and identify business trends.
- Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain financial performance and recommendations clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
- Strong leadership, organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver to tight deadlines.
- Advanced proficiency in financial planning, reporting and analytical systems, alongside strong Excel and presentation skills.
- A proactive, commercially-minded and collaborative approach, with a strong focus on accuracy, accountability and continuous improvement.
- Experience in Telecommunications, Digital Infrastructure, Technology or another capital-intensive industry would be advantageous.
