Senior DWH Platform Engineer- SQL Server DBA

We are looking for two experienced Senior DWH Platform Engineers / Database Administrators to support the operation and further development of an existing on-premise Data Warehouse platform for an Austrian furniture retail client.

The consultants will take responsibility for the stability, availability, performance and ongoing operation of the DWH environment. The role includes SQL Server and SSAS administration, ETL process monitoring and troubleshooting, database deployments, performance tuning, 2nd/3rd level support and coordination of operational processes with relevant stakeholders.

The engagement is fully remote and should start as soon as possible. Structured onboarding at the beginning of the assignment is available and preferred.

Must have skills

• Several years of experience as Senior Database Administrator, DWH Platform Engineer or in a similar role
• Strong Microsoft SQL Server administration skills
• SQL Server performance optimization and tuning
• Hands-on experience with SSAS
• SSAS troubleshooting and cube processing
• Experience with operation and management of ETL processes
• PowerShell
• SQL scripting
• Database deployments
• Experience with performance analysis tools: SQL Server Profiler, Extended Events, Performance Monitor, Dynamic Management Views
• Backup and recovery processes
• Permission / access management
• High Availability solutions, ideally SQL Server Always On
• Experience with 2nd and 3rd level support
• Ability to independently take operational responsibility
• Structured and solution-oriented working approach
• Communicative German (B2-C1)
