🏡 Hybrid role — one day working from home per week, with the possibility of increasing to two days.

Strong in HV electrical engineering and ready to take technical ownership from early design through to energisation?

PRS, a recruitment partner of a leading Irish M&E contractor, is recruiting a Senior Electrical Engineer with HV experience to join its growing engineering team in Dublin.

You’ll provide technical leadership across the full project lifecycle — from concept and feasibility through detailed design, construction, testing, commissioning and handover.

The role:

✅ Lead HV engineering and design across substations, transmission and distribution infrastructure

✅ Coordinate in-house engineers, specialist designers and multidisciplinary project teams

✅ Support tendering, develop procurement specifications and review specialist vendor packages

✅ Support factory and site acceptance testing, commissioning and energisation

✅ Carry out technical inspections and support quality assurance and handover documentation

✅ Mentor junior engineers and help improve engineering processes

We’re keen to speak with professionals who bring:

• A degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline

• At least five years’ experience delivering HV electrical infrastructure projects

• Strong knowledge of substations and grid connections, including switchgear, transformers, control and protection systems, earthing and lightning protection

• Experience on projects within the 10–400 kV range

• A strong understanding of HV design, installation, testing, commissioning and energisation

• A safety-focused approach, attention to detail and confidence managing technical stakeholders

Experience across data centres, utilities, renewable energy, power generation, pharmaceutical or industrial projects is highly relevant.

Detailed design expertise in areas such as power system studies, AIS/GIS substations, HV cables, overhead lines, protection settings, SCADA, earthing or BESS would be an advantage.
