About Your New Employer
Your new employer is an established Irish multidisciplinary engineering consultancy with a strong building services team. They deliver projects across the commercial, residential, healthcare, education and data centre sectors.
They are looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer who can take ownership of electrical design packages, work directly with clients and help develop the engineers around them.
Your New Role
You will lead electrical building services design from concept through to construction, working as part of a wider project team. The role offers a mix of hands-on technical design, project coordination and client engagement.
You will:
- Lead the design and specification of LV distribution, lighting, emergency lighting, small power, fire alarm and other electrical systems.
- Prepare and review calculations, drawings, reports and technical specifications.
- Coordinate electrical designs with mechanical, structural and architectural teams.
- Meet clients to establish requirements and present practical design solutions.
- Review technical submissions, respond to site queries and attend inspections where required.
- Guide and review the work of junior and intermediate engineers.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
- A degree in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
- At least 5 years’ experience in electrical building services design, ideally within a consultancy.
- Strong knowledge of relevant regulations, standards and design guidance.
- Experience using electrical design software such as Amtech/Trimble ProDesign and Dialux.
- The ability to lead design packages, manage deadlines and communicate confidently with clients and project teams.
