Senior Embedded / RTL Validation Engineer | 6-Month Contract | Remote (Europe)

RTL Simulation | Semiconductor System Validation | Freelance / B2B

I'm working on a new contract opportunity for an experienced engineer supporting the system validation of a semiconductor product.

This isn't a traditional firmware development role. The focus is on software-driven testing of hardware behaviour using RTL simulation, developing meaningful validation tests and improving an existing test framework.

The work:

• Develop and execute hardware-focused tests using RTL simulation environments.
• Maintain and adapt an existing software test framework.
• Design system-level validation test cases and investigate unexpected behaviour.
• Work closely with technical stakeholders, taking ownership of delivery with minimal supervision.

What I'm looking for:

• Strong embedded software, FPGA/SoC verification or semiconductor validation experience.
• Practical experience developing and running tests against RTL simulations.
• Confidence working with test automation and maintaining verification frameworks.
• An engineer comfortable driving technical tasks independently.

Contract details:

• Duration: 6 months
• Start: ASAP
• Location: Remote, aligned with CET working hours
• Preference: Austria or the Adriatic region; relevant European profiles also welcome
• Engagement: Freelance / B2B
• Rate: Discussed individually
