Senior Energy Management Engineer
Are you passionate about developing smarter climate control systems and improving vehicle energy efficiency? We are looking for a Senior Energy Management Engineer to develop, integrate and validate climate control software for next-generation automotive products. You will take ownership of climate functions, combining model-based development with hands-on calibration and vehicle testing. Join an international engineering environment and help optimise thermal performance, passenger comfort and energy consumption.
Key responsibilities
- Develop, integrate, calibrate and verify climate control software, taking end-to-end ownership of assigned functions.
- Design, simulate and generate control algorithms using MATLAB, Simulink, Stateflow and Embedded Coder.
- Develop control solutions for HVAC, battery thermal management and powertrain cooling, balancing system performance and energy efficiency.
- Analyse and resolve complex software issues related to functionality, performance and integration.
- Perform software calibration using INCA and CANape, and validate functions through bench testing, road testing and subjective vehicle evaluation.
- Collaborate with global software, hardware, testing and product teams to translate customer and system needs into technical solutions, following established development and quality processes.
Ideal candidate profile
- A degree in Control Systems, Vehicle Engineering, Applied Physics, Mechatronics or a related field, with a few years of relevant automotive climate and thermal systems experience.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, battery cooling, powertrain cooling and control theory, including PID controllers and state machines.
- Proficiency in model-based development using MATLAB, Simulink, Stateflow and Embedded Coder, alongside embedded software development experience in C/C++.
- Hands-on experience with software calibration using INCA and CANape, functional validation, bench testing and road testing.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, a function-owner mindset and the ability to collaborate across disciplines while managing parallel priorities.
- Proficient spoken and written English, clear stakeholder communication skills, and a category B driving licence with experience in vehicle testing and subjective evaluation.
