Show job description

We are on a mission to become the leading international force in residential property management. What we do matters to millions of people in their everyday lives.

Residential real estate is the world’s largest asset class, and for most families, buying a home is the single biggest financial decision they will ever make. For too long, residential property management has fallen short of homeowners' and residents' expectations, and the industry is ready for change. Odevo was formed to make that change happen.

In just six years, Odevo has grown more than 70-fold, establishing us as the leading international player. We are more than 14,000 people across the US, the UK, the Nordics, Germany, Spain, Portugal, Mexico, and Italy building Odevo. Together, we aspire to break new ground through innovation and cultivate a workplace where we help each other succeed, where ideas matter more than titles, and where kindness is a strength.

By combining the power of people and technology, we set a new standard for how homes are managed. Our technology-enabled services simplify living for residents and create a better experience for property owners and boards.

Our ambition is to continue our fast-growing journey through new customers, service expansion, and by partnering with great companies that share our mindset and ambition, both in existing and new markets.

As we continue to grow, we stay true to who we are, challenge unnecessary bureaucracy, and keep decision-making close to our customers.

If you share our mindset and ambition, we’d love you to join us and help accelerate our mission together.

About the role

As Senior Platform Engineer, you will design, develop, and continuously improve secure, scalable, and reliable cloud-native platforms based on Microsoft Azure and Azure Kubernetes Service. The role combines hands-on engineering with platform architecture and technical leadership, providing standardised infrastructure, Kubernetes services, deployment capabilities, and self-service solutions that enable development teams to deliver applications efficiently.

You will ensure that cloud infrastructure and Kubernetes environments are automated, repeatable, observable, and governed according to security and operational best practices, and establish the technical standards, reusable patterns, and documentation required to support consistent platform adoption across the organisation.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Defining platform strategies, technical roadmaps, and architectural standards, and translating business, application, security, and operational requirements into scalable platform capabilities.

  • Providing technical leadership throughout the design, implementation, operation, and continuous improvement of shared platforms, including technical design reviews of changes to shared platforms and security boundaries.

  • Designing and managing Azure infrastructure, from AKS clusters, networking, and container registries to identity, secrets, backup, and PostgreSQL services, using infrastructure as code and automated pipelines.

  • Designing and operating GitOps-based delivery models and establishing Kubernetes platform services.

  • Designing secure authentication and authorisation models, implementing Kubernetes governance and admission-control policies, and maintaining least-privilege isolation between applications, teams, workloads, and platform services.

  • Supporting software supply-chain security through image signing, verification, controlled deployment pipelines, and repository controls.

  • Designing self-service onboarding and provisioning capabilities, with platform automation that is idempotent, repeatable, and supported by validation, dry-run, or what-if capabilities.

  • Developing observability solutions and defining platform-health monitoring, alerting, capacity-management, autoscaling, reliability, and incident follow-up practices.

  • Creating proofs of concept and evaluating new technologies to validate architectural decisions, reduce implementation risk, and develop platform-engineering standards and best practices.

  • Collaborating with application development, DevOps, security, infrastructure, architecture, and observability stakeholders, and supporting application teams with platform integration, migration, deployment patterns, and troubleshooting.

  • Maintaining technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, design decisions, configuration standards, implementation guides, operator handbooks, and user documentation.

Who you are

  • Analytical and architectural: Brings excellent analytical, architectural, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to gather and evaluate requirements and conduct proofs of concept.

  • Technical leader: Able to lead technical initiatives and balance developer experience with security, reliability, governance, and operational requirements.
