Senior Engineer

The Component Engineering Team at Tejas Networks Limited ensures the quality, reliability, and compliance of components used in product designs. This team’s responsibilities encompass component selection, evaluation, BOM management, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure that all components are properly vetted and aligned with product design and performance requirements. Additionally, component evaluation plays a central role in verifying that components meet necessary performance, cost, and compliance standards before being integrated into the Bill of Materials (BOM).

The Component Engineering Team at Tejas Networks ensures that all components selected for the BOM undergo a rigorous evaluation and testing process to meet design, performance, and regulatory requirements. The team works closely with various departments to optimize the BOM, identify potential cost savings, mitigate risks, and maintain compliance with industry regulations. This thorough approach ensures that the components integrated into Tejas Networks’ products are reliable, cost-effective, and compliant with global standards.

Requirements:

BE/B.Tech in Electronics Engineering with 3-4 years experience with electronic manufacturing industry or R&D environment. Diploma in Engineering with 4-5years in relevant field can also apply

• Must have sound knowledge in electronic component selection, qualification and approval process.
• Experience with making test setup for component qualification. Having work experience in telecom domain will be an added advantage.
• Knowledge on RoHS, REACH, CMRT and Regulatory requirements.
• Need to have design understanding, Schematic and PCB tool usage knowledge
• Must have knowledge on approval process, ECN / ECR / EOL process.

Job Description :

Will be responsible for :

• Monitor, identify and resolve component lifecycle issues and identify appropriate resources and substitutes for components.
• Provide support to design team to perform component research
• Manage and assist activities involving component obsolescence and life cycle, including identifying of alternative parts, recommend solutions and ensuring supply continuity.
• Investigates alternate component technologies and supplies for reduced cost, improved quality and reliability
• Monitoring of components, assemblies, sub-assemblies compliance to FITS, RoHS, REACH, CMRT, Safety and Regulatory requirements.
• Effective communication with manufacturer and distributor for datasheet, compliance report collection and engaging manufacturer on field reported component failure study and arriving at solution.
• Administer ECR, ECN, EOL databases and maintain log of requests. Communicate effectively to design and supply chain team for possible impact and supply continuity.
