Coming off a stellar year with 40% YoY revenue growth and a recent $100M capital raise, putting our valuation at $1.9BN, we are accelerating into our next phase of growth. As part of our team, you’ll help drive our AI-first roadmap, developing hyper-personalization engines, agentic distribution, and automated claims infrastructure, while building the scalable technology powering the fast-growing $70B embedded protection market.
Our people are: Accountable, customer-obsessed, collaborative, driven
Our people are not: Passive, defensive, siloed, hesitant
About the Role
As a Senior Engineer on our Developer Experience team, you will help own the technical direction of the tools, platforms and processes that let our engineers build with speed, confidence and security.
To drive success in this role, you will bring a customer-oriented mindset, deep software engineering and/or platform engineering experience, and the judgement to decide which developer problems are worth solving. You will lead the design of our "golden path", gather requirements from developers, build the data foundation to measure impact of devex work (e.g. DORA and developer satisfaction) and mentor other engineers on the team. Regular collaboration with product engineering teams, Infrastructure and Security will be key to making sure every engineer can do their best work.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the golden path: design and evolve shared libraries (e.g. logging, SSO), base images (Python, Node, PHP), CI/CD templates and application Helm charts, in partnership with Infrastructure, making the secure, well-tested way the easy way.
Own the developer feedback loop: run developer interviews and surveys, track DORA and SPACE metrics, and turn the data into a prioritised, high-impact roadmap.
Build agentic AI workflows across the SDLC: design and ship autonomous multi-agent systems for automated code review, intelligent test generation and context gathering, moving beyond standard code-completion tools.
Build automation and internal tooling: remove toil and shorten the develop-build-test iteration loop, including CI reliability and speed.
Own and manage developer-centric tools and vendors: source control, artifact registries, documentation platforms, AI development platforms and the central service catalog.
Embed security into the SDLC: build SAST, DAST, SCA and supply chain controls into pipelines, in partnership with the Security team.
Mentor and raise the bar: guide other DevEx engineers, review designs and code, and drive adoption through documentation, training and clear communication.
Skills & Experience:
What you will have
5+ years of professional software engineering, platform engineering or DevOps experience, with a track record of designing, shipping and operating internal platforms or tooling used by other engineers.
Deep experience building and optimising CI/CD with tools such as GitLab CI, ArgoCD or Argo Workflows, including pipeline performance and release safety at scale.
Strong programming and scripting skills (e.g. Python, Go, TypeScript, Bash) for building internal tooling and automation.
Demonstrated experience building agentic AI systems that automate complex, non-linear workflows (e.g. multi-agent code review, test generation or issue triage), alongside day-to-day fluency with AI coding tools (e.g. Claude Code, Cursor) and a clear view of their risks, costs and guardrails.
Hands-on experience with containers, Kubernetes delivery (Docker, Helm, Kustomize) and infrastructure as code (e.g. Terraform). You will enable developers to use our clusters well, not run them.
Familiarity with developer portals, service catalogs (e.g. Backstage) and developer-productivity metrics (DORA, SPACE).
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field. A postgraduate degree and/or record of academic achievement is also desirable.
What you will bring
A customer-centric, product mindset: a genuine interest in making other engineers' work easier, and the discipline to validate problems first and measure the outcome afterwards.
Pragmatic technical judgement: you turn ambiguity into clear designs, prioritise high-impact, low-effort wins, balance speed with quality and security, and explain the why behind your decisions.
A collaborative, influential approach: you earn trust across Infrastructure, Security and product teams through evidence and clear communication rather than mandate, and you enjoy helping others level up.
A strong sense of accountability: you take responsibility for outcomes end-to-end, follow through on commitments, and are transparent when plans change.
Curiosity and an AI-first mindset: you use AI tools every day, stay curious about fast-moving capabilities, and share what works so the whole team gets more leverage.
