Quantum Technology Group, LLC (QTG) is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Senior Enterprise Architect to support the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Enterprise Load Balancing Solution.
The Senior Enterprise Architect serves as design authority for the VA enterprise application delivery controller (ADC) environment. The role develops the target architecture, capacity and migration approaches, standardized service offerings, and secure integration patterns across physical, virtual, cloud, identity, monitoring, and application environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead current-state discovery and develop the Target Architecture Design Document and migration architecture.
Architect services for web, client-server, TCP, internal/external/DMZ, gateway/remote-access, GSLB, Citrix XenApp/XenDesktop/XML, PKI validation, and IPv4-to-IPv6 translation workloads.
Define high availability (HA), performance tiers, throughput envelopes, encryption posture, authentication integration, monitoring/reporting profiles, and global server load balancing (GSLB) and web application firewall (WAF) participation.
Design integration with VA enterprise logging, monitoring, identity, DNS, PKI, cloud, and management/orchestration services.
Support consolidation and right-sizing of the approximately 480 legacy virtual load-balancer footprint.
Establish architecture patterns for GSLB, ICAP, Layer 7 routing, TLS translation, NAT64, WAF, and enterprise IPv6 transition.
Provide design authority during deployment, migration, sustainment, and complex troubleshooting.
Qualifications:
Required:
Education: Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
Experience:
10+ years of enterprise network/application-delivery engineering with significant architecture responsibility
5+ years of hands-on Citrix NetScaler/NetScaler ADC architecture or equivalent deep OEM platform expertise
Certification: OEM-badged or OEM-certified status appropriate to the work, with work product warrantable and supported by the OEM, as required by the solicitation for PD Sections 1.4.2 through 1.4.5
Skills:
Experience designing highly available enterprise platforms spanning data center, virtualization, and cloud
Preferred:
Experience with VA or FISMA High environments and Zero Trust architecture
AWS GovCloud, Azure Government, VMware vSphere, and Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization/KubeVirt experience
NetScaler advanced/professional-level certification or current equivalent
Experience with large-scale ADC consolidation and application migration programs
Knowledge and Experience:
Expert knowledge of L4-L7 load balancing, TCP/IP, DNS, GSLB, SSL/TLS, PKI, HA, WAF, routing, and enterprise security patterns
Additional Requirements:
Must satisfy the security, background investigation, Identity, Credential, and Access Management (ICAM), Authority to Operate (ATO), and Personal Identity Verification (PIV) requirements applicable to the assigned work. The solicitation does not specify a single clearance level for every position.
Must reside and work within the continental United States (CONUS). The Government's preferred model is dedicated, named personnel working remotely from contractor facilities, with onsite support at VA-assigned locations when directed for hardware-touch or site activities.
Must complete VA Privacy and Information Security Awareness and Rules of Behavior training (TMS 10176) before system access and annually thereafter, plus any applicable role-based training.
Engineering, design, migration, and capability-uplift work under Performance Description (PD) Sections 1.4.2 through 1.4.5 requires original equipment manufacturer (OEM)-badged or OEM-certified personnel. This requirement applies to this position when its assigned duties fall within those sections.
