General Summary: The Senior Epic Trainer is an Epic credentialed instructor responsible for providing successful training to a diversified audience for the HFHS implementation of an electronic healthcare record utilizing the EPIC system of applications. It will require flexible work hours to meet the needs of the user community. Under direct supervision, conducts moderately complex training and educational programs for Epic applications. Credentialed candidate will be providing computer, workflow based and procedural training. The Senior Epic Trainer will work with their Instructional Designers to complete operations improvement projects in the areas of curriculum design, logistics planning and education material development. Requires a strong skill set in interpersonal, written and verbal communication. Education & Experience Required: High School Diploma or G.E.D. is required. One to two years of experience with specialized information systems in a clinical healthcare environment and/or one to two years of clinical/healthcare training experience are required. Bachelor’s degree in education, instructional design, information technology, clinical field or equivalent combination of education and experience, preferred. Associate's Degree or equivalent from a two year college or technical school, preferred. Experience EMR training and/or implementation a plus, preferred. Formal education & training in Medical Assisting, Nursing, Health Care Administration, Project Management or Information Technology is preferred. Minimum of 3 - 5 years computer related experience required preferably in a medical clinic setting or training in a hospital setting is preferred. Ability to work variable shifts: Training will be provided Monday through Saturday (possibly on Sunday). Training will be conducted from 7:00 AM - 11:00 PM to accommodate the large volume of end users. Knowledge of HFHS clinical and operational workflows, as well as policy and procedures is beneficial. Ability to consistently present scripted training materials to large groups, and to conduct engaging and effective training sessions to diverse audiences including management staff, nurses, medical assistants, ancillary support staff, physicians, mid-level providers (NP & PA) and others. Ability to design educational curriculum incorporating operational workflows and policies. Well respected by peers and management and viewed as a trusted resource.
