Senior Estimator

Estimators – Civils or Mechanical

Remote – Ireland

Our client is seeking experienced Estimators with a Civils and/or Mechanical background to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced construction professionals to work remotely within Ireland on a range of major projects.

Candidates with previous Data Centre experience are particularly desirable, although strong estimating experience within other major construction or engineering sectors will also be considered.

Responsibilities

- Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates and tenders for construction and engineering projects.

- Review drawings, specifications, scopes of work and tender documentation.

- Prepare detailed take-offs and bills of quantities.

- Obtain and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations.

- Develop detailed estimates in line with project requirements and commercial objectives.

- Identify potential risks, exclusions, opportunities and cost-saving measures.

- Liaise with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, engineers and internal project teams.

- Assist with tender submissions and commercial presentations.

- Maintain accurate estimating records and supporting documentation.

- Contribute to the development of estimating procedures, cost databases and benchmarks.

- Ensure estimates are completed within agreed deadlines and to a high standard.

Requirements

- Previous experience working as an Estimator within the construction or engineering sector.

- Civils and/or Mechanical estimating background.

- Previous experience working on projects in Ireland or the UK is essential.

- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, labour and associated costs.

- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and tender documentation.

- Strong commercial and analytical skills.

- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work to tight deadlines.

- Good communication and negotiation skills.

- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with remote teams.

- Strong IT and estimating software skills.
