About Bask & Lather Co.

Bask & Lather Co. is a fast-growing, family-founded haircare brand dedicated to restoring crowns and confidence. What began as a kitchen remedy has evolved into one of the most celebrated textured-hair care brands in the U.S., loved for our authentic story, transformative results, and community-first approach.

It’s an exciting time to join our team as we grow and build a culture rooted in creativity, collaboration, and care. Together, we’re shaping the next chapter of a brand powered by community and led by purpose to help people everywhere love their hair, love their journey, and love themselves.

Role Overview

Bask & Lather is seeking a Senior Experiential Marketing Manager to own how customers experience the brand through events, PR boxes, gifting and launch kits, retail displays, merchandising, sampling, community experiences, brand partnerships, and physical and digital activations. This role owns the experience from concept and business case through production, delivery, quality checks, and measurement.

This is a hands-on role for a proactive operator who can turn brand and business priorities into a proposed experiential calendar, realistic budgets, and well-executed experiences. You will bring recommendations forward, secure alignment and approvals, and drive delivery through clear ownership, verified details, and consistent follow-through.

Success means experiences that deepen customer connection, support retail and commercial growth, and deliver measurable outcomes with disciplined use of time and resources. You don’t just have big ideas, you value the small details too.

Core Responsibilities

Experiential Strategy, Calendar & Event Selection

  • Develop and maintain a rolling 12-month customer experience and activation calendar covering events, PR boxes, gifting, retail displays, sampling, and partnerships, aligned with product launches, brand campaigns, retail priorities, and commercial goals.
  • Proactively recommend events, partnerships, and activation concepts, with clear audience fit, objectives, timing, resource requirements, and expected outcomes.
  • Build proposed plans and budget scenarios using stated assumptions, then refine them with leadership and Finance. Maintain forward planning while final allocations or other inputs are being resolved.
  • Evaluate the value of each opportunity and recommend where to invest, simplify, or decline participation.

Budget Ownership & Business Cases

  • Develop annual and project-level budget proposals covering events, PR boxes and gifting kits, displays, packaging and inserts, production, sponsorships, staffing, travel, freight, product, sampling, storage, and contingency.
  • Present the rationale, measurable deliverables, expected business impact, alternatives, and measurement plan before requesting approval.
  • Obtain appropriate approvals before commitments or deposits, manage scope changes, and track committed, forecast, and actual costs with Finance.

End-to-End Event Production & Readiness

  • Own events from brief and planning through onsite execution, breakdown, reconciliation, and follow-up.
  • Verify attendance estimates, audience profile, venue requirements, staffing coverage, product quantities, transportation, shipping, setup, and return logistics with the appropriate partners.
  • Build workback schedules, run-of-show documents, staffing plans, checklists, and contingency plans, with named owners and deadlines.
  • Manage vendors, agencies, temporary staff, and onsite teams. Confirm deliverables, production milestones, proofs, shipping status, and receipt.
  • Identify dependencies and risks early, propose solutions, and escalate decisions before they affect readiness. Maintain accountability through completion when tasks are delegated.

Brand Partnerships & Community Development

  • Proactively identify and develop partnerships with complementary brands, community organizations, salons, stylists, event platforms, and relevant cultural or retail partners.
  • Initiate outreach and build proposals that define audience fit, mutual value, partner contributions, costs, deliverables, and expected outcomes.
  • Manage approved collaborations, co-hosted events, sampling partnerships, and customer experiences from concept through activation, partner follow-up, and measurement.
  • Negotiate proposed scopes and commercial terms within delegated authority, secure required approvals, and maintain a partnership pipeline with next steps, owners, and deadlines.
  • Coordinate with Commercial, PR, and Influencer teams on relationship ownership, messaging, and overlapping opportunities.

Retail, Trade & Cross-Functional Execution

  • Partner with Commercial on trade shows, retailer events, beauty supply activations, education experiences, and qualified business-development opportunities.
  • Own the end-to-end customer experience for PR boxes, gifting and launch kits, retail displays, merchandising, and sampling programs, including the concept brief, product assortment, presentation, materials, budget, sourcing, production, assembly, delivery, and quality checks.
  • Develop experience concepts and briefs with the Art Director, who leads visual design and artwork. Drive approvals and vendor execution, maintaining accountability for the finished experience.
  • Manage retail display development and rollout from specifications and prototypes through fabrication, shipment, installation, and verification that the display is correctly presented in market.
  • Manage PR box and gifting programs from concept through recipient-ready delivery, coordinating recipient strategy with PR and Influencer teams and verifying samples, product fit, inserts, protective packaging, and the unboxing experience.
  • Coordinate with Operations and Supply Chain on inventory, packing, freight, storage, and asset reuse, with advance confirmation of capacity and responsibilities.
  • Partner with Social, Influencer, PR, and Retention on promotion, guest communications, content capture, consent-based lead collection, and follow-up.
  • Produce designated social commerce experiences, aligning talent, set production, product education, stock readiness, and run-of-show with channel goals.

Measurement, Reporting & Continuous Improvement

  • Set event-specific KPIs and reporting responsibilities before launch, reflecting whether the objective is customer acquisition, education, retail support, trade relationships, or sales.
  • Report fully loaded costs, attributable sales and contribution where measurable, qualified leads, customer engagement, content deliverables, and follow-up outcomes. State attribution assumptions and limitations.
  • Provide clear weekly updates on milestones, budgets, risks, decisions, and next actions; close out events with a documented performance review and recommendations.
  • Build reusable playbooks, vendor records, asset inventories, and reporting templates across events, PR boxes, gifting, and retail displays. Use recipient feedback, field photos, delivery issues, and quality findings to improve future experiences.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experiential, event, field, or brand activation experience, including independent ownership of complex events and budgets.
  • Demonstrated ability to propose calendars and budgets, evaluate opportunities, and manage multiple activations from planning through measurable follow-up.
  • Strong vendor negotiation, production, staffing, logistics, and project management skills, with experience leading agencies, contractors, or onsite teams.
  • Evidence of commercial judgment, financial discipline, and practical performance reporting.
  • Strong cross-functional communication and the ability to secure inputs, resolve blockers, and drive follow-through independently.
  • Experience in beauty, haircare, CPG, lifestyle, or retail is strongly preferred; understanding of textured-hair consumers and product education is valuable.
  • Experience developing and executing brand partnerships, with evidence of proactive sourcing, negotiation, and measurable value.
  • Experience owning PR boxes, gifting kits, and retail display programs from concept through production and delivery, including sample review, assembly, quality checks, and vendor management.
  • Experience with trade shows, retail activations, and community events; live commerce production experience is a plus.
  • Ability to travel and work onsite for events, including scheduled evenings and weekends as required.

Key KPIs & Success Metrics

  • Calendar and budget proposals delivered on time, with clear priorities and business cases.
  • Planning milestones completed and event, PR box, gifting, and display readiness verified before launch or delivery.
  • PR boxes and displays delivered on time, within approved cost, and to agreed quality standards, with delivery and installation verified.
  • Spend managed against approved budgets, with timely reconciliation and clear variance explanations.
  • Event-specific customer, retail, commercial, or sales outcomes measured against agreed targets.
  • Qualified leads, content assets, and follow-up actions delivered to the appropriate owners.
  • Qualified partnership opportunities progressing through a documented pipeline and approved collaborations delivering agreed outcomes.
  • Consistent reporting, early risk escalation, and improvements in cost, execution, and asset reuse.
