For every child, the right to Future

How can you make a difference?

The UNICEF Strategic Plan has elevated action on climate change and environmental degradation as an organizational priority, to be integrated throughout UNICEF programmes. To concretize this, UNICEF HQ is implementing its global Healthy Environments for Healthy Children (HEHC) programme framework. The Framework explicitly recognizes that protecting children requires more than governmental policy; it demands a fundamental transformation in how the private sector operates, produces, and engages with communities. To mobilize collection action, UNICEF and partners have founded a Children’s Environmental Health Collaborative to protect child health and development from the impact of climate change and environmental degradation. This consultancy engages a global expert in environmental law, chemical science, and human rights to serve as a Senior Expert on Environmental Policy Engagement. The Exprt will support UNICEF’s global portfolio by embedding child health and rights into key intergovernmental agreements, shaping corporate ESG due diligence frameworks, defining pathways for children's access to environmental justice, and building multi-stakeholder coalitions across state and non-state actors.
