  • Conduct regular one-on-one meetings, performance discussions, field visits, and development planning to strengthen employee capability, engagement, and readiness for future opportunities
  • Promote a safe, respectful, inclusive, and collaborative work environment consistent with West Fraser’s values and Human Resources practices
  • Allocate territories, accounts, projects, and workloads to support effective market coverage, customer service, and team productivity
  • Provide oversight and guidance for regional marketing programs involving pro-dealers, retail accounts, builders, contractors, architects, engineers, and industrial customers
  • Ensure the team builds and maintains strong customer relationships through excellent service, proactive follow-up, technical support, and a thorough understanding of customer business needs
  • Guide the promotion of new and existing West Fraser products and ensure consistent, accurate product and application messaging in the marketplace
  • Serve as the senior subject matter resource for the team and coordinate appropriate internal support for technical questions, product applications, building-code issues, and customer concerns
  • Oversee market intelligence and reporting related to product usage, construction activity, customer needs, competitive threats, and emerging opportunities across the team’s territories
  • Partner closely with Sales, Marketing, mill operations, technical resources, Human Resources, and other internal stakeholders to resolve issues and achieve shared objectives
  • Support consistent and timely handling of product concerns and claims by ensuring appropriate documentation, communication, escalation, and cross-functional coordination
  • Review team plans, activities, budgets, and results; identify performance gaps; and implement corrective actions or continuous-improvement initiatives as needed
  • Represent West Fraser at customer meetings, industry events, trade associations, conferences, and other market-facing activities when senior leadership involvement is appropriate
  • Contribute informed field perspectives to broader organizational planning, product strategy, sales initiatives, and marketing programs
  • Demonstrate sound judgment, integrity, humility, accountability, teamwork, and responsible decision-making in all leadership and business activities

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience in field marketing, sales, construction, building materials, or the wood products industry
  • Ten or more years of progressively responsible experience related to home construction, commercial construction, building materials, industrial markets, wood products, field marketing, technical sales, or a closely related industry
  • Demonstrated experience leading, coaching, and developing employees, including setting expectations, managing performance, and supporting career development
  • Strong knowledge of construction practices, building materials, building codes, product applications, and the needs of builders, dealers, contractors, and other channel partners
  • Proven ability to translate organizational objectives into regional plans, team priorities, measurable goals, and consistent field execution
  • Strong business judgment and the ability to analyze market information, customer needs, product usage, performance trends, and competitive threats
  • Excellent planning, organization, prioritization, and time-management skills, with the ability to lead a geographically dispersed team and manage competing demands
  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation, facilitation, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, and other systems used for communication, planning, reporting, and performance management
  • Ability and willingness to travel regularly within the assigned region and to other locations as business needs require

What Will Make You Stand Out:

  • Engineering, architecture, building science, construction management, or related professional education or accreditation
  • Advanced knowledge of structural wood products, including OSB, plywood, lumber, and engineered wood products
