Senior Financial Accountant

The Opportunity

Join a successful privately owned mining services, manufacturing and product supply group as their Senior Financial Accountant. Reporting to the MD, you'll take ownership of financial reporting, taxation, compliance, governance and financial controls across multiple entities, while providing valuable commercial insights to support business performance and growth.

This highly visible role is responsible for budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, profitability analysis, month-end reporting and the continuous improvement of finance systems, processes and controls, including ERP optimisation (Epicor experience advantageous).

💰 $150,000 - $170,000 + Super

What You’ll Be Doing

Financial Management & Reporting

· Lead the monthly management reporting process, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.

· Prepare and review monthly Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow and management reports.

· Deliver financial analysis, commentary and recommendations to management.

· Prepare budgets, forecasts and financial modelling to support business planning.

· Monitor company performance against budgets and strategic objectives.

· Improve reporting systems, dashboards, KPIs and financial metrics.

· Provide detailed financial insights on the business, product lines, cost centres and profit opportunities.

· Provide financial support for expansion initiatives and future market activities.

· Contribute to the organisation's readiness for future growth and corporate governance.

Financial Control & Governance

· Provide guidance and support to a small finance team to enhance capability and accountability.

· Oversee month-end and year-end financial close processes.

· Review and maintain general ledger integrity and high-level journal entries.

· Monitor cashflow management and working capital performance.

· Analyse supply chain management improvements and overall cost and delivery efficiencies.

· Review and maintain strong internal financial controls.

· Review and improve accounting processes, procedures and systems.

· Ensure compliance with Australian Accounting Standards and statutory obligations.

· Partner with external advisors in relation to complex taxation, and compliance reporting obligations.

ERP Implementation & Business Improvement

· Assist in the successful implementation and optimisation of the organisation's new ERP system.

· Work with internal stakeholders and external consultants to improve systems functionality

· Develop financial processes that support business growth and future corporate requirements.

· Drive process improvement initiatives to support operational efficiency and scalability.

What We’re Looking For

· Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Accounting and Finance.

· CA, CIMA or CPA qualified.

· 8+ years' + experience in commercial financial accounting and/or CFO Advisory and Business Services.

· Proven experience within medium to large commercial organisation’s - mining / manufacturing a plus.

· Strong management accounting, financial reporting and commercial analysis capability.
