mobile.de is Germany’s largest vehicle marketplace, with more than 1.6 million listed cars. Both private customers and registered vehicle dealers use the platform. Founded in 1996, the company is a subsidiary of Adevinta, a global leader in online classified portals. Based in Berlin-Charlottenburg, we offer a dynamic environment where growth, learning, and collaboration come together.

About the role
Are you equally at home building financial infrastructure and acting as a trusted strategic partner to business leadership? Do you thrive in environments where you need to be both the architect and the co-pilot?
We're seeking an experienced Senior Financial Planning & Analysis Generalist (d/f/m) to take end-to-end finance ownership. This is a unique, standalone role: you will be the dedicated Finance function for a separate business entity.
In this high-impact role, you will build the financial infrastructure of the subsidiary from the ground up, while simultaneously acting as the strategic finance partner to its leadership team. You'll operate with a high degree of autonomy, connecting the subsidiary's financial reality to mobile.de's broader reporting and governance standards.
What you’ll bring
  • 8–10+ years of relevant FP&A / finance experience, with a proven track record that spans both hands-on process ownership and senior stakeholder partnering in complex environments.
  • Proven ability to wear multiple hats: you're equally comfortable designing financial processes from scratch and walking a business leader through scenario trade-offs.
  • Deep expertise in financial process design and financial statement reporting (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow), combined with strong business case development and scenario modeling skills.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills — you can operate with "high challenge & high support" and build trusted partnerships with senior leaders while also executing independently.
  • Comfortable operating with ambiguity and autonomy in a build-phase environment — you can structure, prioritize, and deliver without a fully established framework around you.
  • Experience with financial systems (SAP for HANA), BI tools (Looker, Tableau, etc.), and advanced Excel / Google Sheets.
  • Team player with a collaborative mindset — effective across business stakeholders, Central FP&A, Accounting, and senior leadership.
  • Bachelor's degree in Economics, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English; German is a plus.
What you’ll do
Finance Business Partnering

  • Be the strategic finance partner for the subsidiary's leadership: bring financial insight, influence key decisions, and ensure full understanding of financial implications — beyond descriptive P&L reporting.
  • Drive performance management & business steering: own the forecasting cadence for the subsidiary, proactively identify risks and opportunities, and co-create steering measures with the business.
  • Explain value drivers and enable action: translate month-end variances into the "why" behind performance and recommend concrete actions to close gaps or accelerate growth.
  • Build scenarios and evaluate initiatives: develop scenario models and business cases for commercial initiatives — grounded in assumptions, sensitivities, and ROI thinking.
  • Align narrative and ensure consistency: ensure the subsidiary's financial story is consistent and decision-ready for management discussions, aligning drivers, actions, and outlook.
Core FP&A & Financial Infrastructure
  • Build and own core financial processes: design, implement, and continuously improve robust processes for month-end close, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting for the subsidiary.
  • Consolidate and report: deliver management summaries and ensure the subsidiary's financial results are accurately consolidated and reported into mobile.de's central reporting framework.
  • Own overhead and headcount planning: take full responsibility for planning, forecasting, and analysis of overhead costs and headcount for the subsidiary, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Process improvement and automation: identify opportunities to streamline and enhance financial processes and tools, setting the subsidiary up with a scalable finance foundation.
  • Bridge to Central FP&A: serve as the primary interface between the subsidiary and mobile.de's Central FP&A team — feeding operational realities into group forecasts, ensuring consistency of standards, and leveraging central tools and frameworks where applicable.
