Senior Finance Business Partner – Strategy & Commercial Finance

Salary: Up to €90,000 base + bonus

Hybrid: 3 days office / 2 days remote

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a commercially focused Senior Finance Business Partner to join a growing, private equity-backed international business operating within the engineering and manufacturing sector.

The business is currently investing significantly in its Finance and FP&A capability as it enters its next phase of growth. With ongoing M&A activity, including international expansion, this is a high-profile role that will work closely with the CFO, senior leadership team and wider commercial and operational functions.

This is not a traditional accounting or reporting-focused position. The successful candidate will play a key role in turning complex financial and operational data into meaningful commercial insight, challenging assumptions and helping senior management make better-informed decisions.

The Role

Working as part of an evolving FP&A and commercial finance function, you will take ownership of a broad range of strategic and commercially focused initiatives, including:

• Partnering with senior stakeholders across Commercial, Operations and Finance
• Providing commercial insight around revenue performance, pricing and profitability
• Analysing manufacturing margins and identifying key performance drivers
• Supporting annual budgeting, forecasting and long-range planning
• Contributing to the development and ongoing refinement of the five-year business and value creation plan
• Building financial models and scenario analysis to support strategic decision-making
• Working with large volumes of financial and operational data and translating findings into clear recommendations
• Producing high-quality presentations and management information for the CFO, CEO, senior leadership team and other key stakeholders
• Challenging commercial assumptions and investigating underlying business performance drivers
• Supporting M&A activity, including acquisition modelling, due diligence and post-acquisition integration
• Monitoring acquisition performance, synergies and value creation initiatives
• Supporting ad hoc strategic projects driven by senior management and the private equity shareholder

The Person

This role would suit a highly analytical and commercially minded finance professional who enjoys working beyond traditional reporting and accounting.

You will ideally have experience in one or more of the following areas:

• Commercial Finance
• Finance Business Partnering
• FP&A
• Strategy or Management Consulting
• Corporate Finance
• Transaction Advisory / Deals
• Strategic Finance

You should also be able to demonstrate:

• Strong financial modelling and advanced Excel capability
• Excellent commercial and financial acumen
• The ability to analyse complex datasets and identify what genuinely matters to the business
• Strong PowerPoint and presentation skills
• Experience presenting financial and commercial analysis to senior stakeholders
• The confidence to challenge assumptions and influence decision-making
• The ability to communicate complex information in a concise and commercially relevant way
• Strong stakeholder management skills across finance and non-finance functions
• The ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-moving environment

Previous exposure to M&A, private equity-backed organisations, manufacturing, engineering or highly acquisitive businesses would be advantageous but is not essential.

An accounting qualification may be beneficial but is not a prerequisite. Of greater importance is a strong commercial mindset and the ability to move from data and analysis to insight, recommendation and action.
