Senior Front-End Developer (IC)

Job Title: Senior Front-End Developer Reports to: Practice Head: Agile Coaching ROLE OVERVIEW The employed individual will be challenged with access to a range of projects at clients across industries, working with other experienced technologists whose single pursuit is optimal value creation for our customers through the construction of peerless solutions, this dynamic self- starting individual will be experienced in the best practices accumulated through successful delivery on hundreds of software development assignments. You would have the opportunity to be involved with both consulting projects and internal projects. KNOWLEDGE Work as part of a team to build React.js or React Native iOS / Android applications for clients. Architect, build and maintain excellent React.js or React Native applications with clean code. Implement pixel perfect UI's that match designs. Implement clean, modern, smooth animations and transitions that provide an excellent user experience. Integrate with bespoke or third-party API's Write unit and integration tests Release applications to iOS and Google Play stores. Work with native modules when required. Work as part of a small team, which will include other React.js or React Native developers, a project manager, Business Analyst, QA professional, and a designer. Participate in all Agile ceremonies Sprints, Sprint Planning, Spring Retrospectives and Reviews as well as Daily Stand-ups. Assist with building estimates. Interface with clients via collaborative channels E.g. Slack, Zoom, and email. Track your time throughout the day using Fusion. Work with modern tools including Jira, Slack, GitHub, Google Docs, etc. Be part of a community of React.js and React Native developers who share knowledge and help each other as problems arise. Follow the complete Software Development Life Cycle process SKILLS Solutions design and implementation Improving the design of existing code Keep up to date with technology Ability to Multitask System design and analysis Ability to conceptualise and simplify complex problems Ability to implement and configure DevSecOps toolchains Leadership of junior developers in the team Attitudes Enthusiastic and committed Work with minimal supervision Work in a team environment Ability to work under pressure Delivery focused Work to tight deadlines Professionalism (Conduct and Appearance) Motivated Show initiative Awareness of environment FUNDAMENTAL COMPETENCIES Strong written and oral communication skills Creative eye for details Positive attitude Able to multitask effectively Display excellent time management, task planning and prioritisation skills Able to adapt quickly to changing client requirements Able to work effectively with minimal supervision Work under pressure RESPONSIBILITIES Strong creative front-end skills to develop product ready web applications, functional prototypes and interactive demos for a variety of web and mobile-based initiatives Develop functional and appealing web- and mobile-based applications whilst consuming WCF services and RESTful API’s created by back-end developers Provide website maintenance and enhancements Create quality mock-ups and prototypes on tight timelines Assist back-end developers with coding and troubleshooting Create cascading style sheets (CSS) that are consistent across all browsers and platforms Maintain digital standards and branding throughout the product’s interface Stay up-to-date on emerging technologies Promote usability best practices Develop new user-facing features Build reusable code and libraries for future use Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs Optimize application for maximum speed and scalability Assure that all user input is validated before submitting to back-end Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders MINIMUM EXPERIENCE 5+ years’ experience in Front-end software development Preferably in a banking, insurance or telecoms industry Experience in SDLC methodologies such as AGILE (SCRUM)
