Senior Front-end Software Engineer

We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Front-end Software Engineer to support digital initiatives for a prestigious European Union institution. 💻

This hybrid role is based in Brussels, requiring 1 day per week on-site at the office, and we are open to engaging candidates through either employee or freelance contracts.

Responsibilities:

• Development of front-end website architecture.
• Design of user interactions on web pages.
• Development of features to enhance the user experience.
• Building reusable code for future use.
• Apply data and security best practices: input validation, authentication/authorization, secure storage, compliant logging and monitoring.
• Ensure web applications are optimized for performance and functionality across different browsers and devices.
• Design responsive applications.
• Participating in the design and creation of scalable software.
• Maintenance of code integrity and organisation.
• Writing clean, functional code on the front-end.
• Compile and analyse data, processes, and codes to troubleshoot problems and identify areas for improvement.
• Perform unit/integration testing, debug, fix, and validate code changes.
• Deliver solutions that fulfil functional and non-functional requirements and align with user expectations.
• Write technical documentation.
• Collaborate with UX/UI designers to translate wireframes and mock-ups into functional, high-fidelity web pages and components.
• Build user interfaces using modern front-end frameworks, libraries and web standards.
• Implement state management solutions to manage data flow within complex applications.

Requirements:

• Minimum 15 years of total professional experience in the IT field.
• Minimum 3 years of professional experience working on IT systems in the Mobility/Transport and/or Energy domain.
• Minimum 9 years of professional experience with Angular.
• Minimum 6 years of professional experience with the Redux architecture (Redux or NgRx).
• Minimum 3 years of professional experience with JavaScript.
• Minimum 3 years of professional experience with HTML.
• Minimum 3 years of professional experience with CSS.
• University degree corresponding to Level 7 of the European Qualifications Framework (EQF 7), equivalent to a Master's level degree or Level 6 of the European Qualifications Framework (EQF 6), equivalent to a Bachelor's level degree.
