Senior Front End Engineer – React / TypeScript

£550 per day | Predominantly Remote | Outside IR35 (TBC) | November Start

Primus Connect is recruiting a Senior Front End Engineer to support a technology consultancy delivering a software engineering project within a highly regulated environment.

We're looking for a hands-on React specialist who can take ownership of frontend development, from initial wireframes and user journeys through to building and deploying production-ready applications.

You'll be developing complex, interactive user interfaces, integrating backend services and using AI-powered development tools to support delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain frontend applications using React and TypeScript.
• Translate wireframes, prototypes and user journeys into production-ready interfaces.
• Build complex dynamic forms, including conditional logic, validation, multi-step workflows and autosave functionality.
• Integrate frontend applications with REST APIs.
• Implement authentication, SSO and role-based user interfaces.
• Work within established enterprise design systems and accessibility standards.
• Develop automated frontend tests using modern JavaScript testing frameworks.
• Use Claude Code to accelerate development, while reviewing and validating AI-generated code.
• Participate in code reviews, GitHub workflows and structured release processes.

Essential Experience

• Strong commercial React and TypeScript experience.
• Advanced understanding of React hooks, component design and state management.
• UI/UX design, wireframing and interactive prototyping.
• Experience developing complex forms and enterprise applications.
• Vite and modern JavaScript development tooling.
• Experience working with enterprise design systems.
• WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards.
• REST API integration, SSO and role-based access control.
• Frontend testing using Jest, Vitest or React Testing Library.
• GitHub, pull requests, code reviews and CI/CD.
• Hands-on Claude Code experience.
• Experience developing or delivering AI-powered solutions.
• Previous experience delivering software within heavily regulated environments.

Desirable Experience

• PingFederate.
• Advanced Claude Code functionality, including custom skills and subagents.
• GitHub Copilot for code review.
• Experience delivering enterprise applications within pharmaceutical, financial services or other regulated industries.

Contract Details

• Day Rate: Up to £550 per day
• IR35: Outside IR35
• Location: Fully Remote
• Start Date: November 2026
• Duration: Until March/April 2027
