Senior Frontend Engineer - Editor Experience

Mindsmith is an authoring platform that turns internal docs into interactive e‑learning. Teams guide the system through each step of course creation, and customers report 12–20× faster production. Custom generation is step one—we’re building the infrastructure for e‑learning. Own the editing experience. Make our editors instant, precise, and predictable. Micro‑interactions, latency, and ergonomics directly translate into real productivity for them. If you love building editors, layout systems, and the tiny touches that make complex apps feel simple, you’ll be at home here. What you’ll do Build and maintain the editor, including blocks, inline tools, media, and layout. Improve performance across rendering, virtualization, streaming, and caching. Keep behavior correct and consistent: accessibility, selection/undo, and paste fidelity. Support real-time collaboration: presence, conflict resolution, and dependable WebSockets. Work with design and customers to test ideas and ship improvements. What you bring 5+ years building production web apps. Expert TypeScript and React. Shipped complex UIs (editors, docs, whiteboards, IDE‑like apps). A11y awareness and performance profiling. Clear communication and follow‑through. Bonus points Built productivity tools used daily. Deep editor experience (ProseMirror/Tiptap, Lexical, Slate, CodeMirror) or custom schema/OT. Real‑time collab (CRDT/OT) and presence systems. Virtualization or canvas/SVG renderers. Design systems (Radix/shadcn/ui), Tailwind. Ed‑tech or content creation background. Our stack Frontend: Next.js/React, TypeScript, Tailwind, Radix/shadcn/ui, Zustand, React Query Backend: Node.js, WebSockets, MySQL/Prisma, GCP/Cloud Run (We also use Python for document processing.)
