Role Overview As a Senior Frontend Engineer, you will lead the development of scalable, high-performance frontend experiences using React. You will work closely with product managers, designers, backend engineers, and leadership to build intuitive user experiences that support our growing platform. This role requires someone who not only delivers high-quality code, but also actively leverages AI-powered engineering workflows, contributes to architectural improvements, reduces technical debt, and helps elevate the overall technical maturity of the frontend team. You should be comfortable operating in a fast-paced startup environment where ownership, accountability, adaptability, and continuous learning are highly valued. Key Responsibilities Frontend Engineering Lead development of scalable user-facing features using React and TypeScript Translate Figma designs into clean, responsive, and production-ready interfaces Build reusable, maintainable, and extensible frontend components and libraries Optimize applications for performance, accessibility, responsiveness, and scalability Maintain and improve existing frontend architecture and codebases Collaborate closely with backend engineers to define APIs and data contracts Participate in architecture discussions and technical planning sessions AI-Assisted Development & Engineering Productivity Leverage modern AI development tools (such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, ChatGPT, or similar tools) to improve engineering productivity and delivery speed Utilize AI-assisted workflows for debugging, refactoring, testing, documentation, and code optimization Continuously evaluate emerging AI engineering tools and recommend improvements to team workflows Promote responsible and secure usage of AI-assisted development practices across the engineering team Code Quality, Technical Debt & Security Conduct regular code reviews and mentor junior/mid-level engineers Identify technical debt areas and proactively recommend modernization strategies Help maintain frontend dependency health, package upgrades, and yearly React ecosystem upgrades Ensure engineering best practices in scalability, maintainability, testing, and security Identify potential frontend security risks and vulnerabilities Contribute to improving CI/CD pipelines, frontend standards, and development processes Team Collaboration & Leadership Share technical knowledge and AI best practices with teammates Stay updated with evolving frontend technologies, frameworks, and industry trends Contribute to improving engineering culture, documentation, and collaboration Take ownership of deliverables and ensure timely execution Requirements Core Technical Skills 5+ years of experience with React.js in production environments Strong proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+) and TypeScript Deep understanding of component-based architecture and modern frontend patterns Experience with state management solutions such as Redux, Context API, or Zustand Strong understanding of REST APIs and asynchronous data handling Experience with frontend performance optimization techniques Strong Git and version control practices AI & Modern Engineering Practices Hands-on experience using AI-powered developer tools in day-to-day engineering workflows Ability to effectively use AI for debugging, refactoring, documentation, and productivity improvements Strong awareness of evolving frontend trends, AI advancements, and modern development practices Code Quality & Ownership Experience performing peer code reviews and mentoring engineers Ability to identify and reduce technical debt Understanding of frontend security best practices Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Ability to work independently with high ownership and accountability Nice to Have Experience with Next.js or server-side rendering frameworks Experience with testing frameworks such as Jest and React Testing Library Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and frontend deployment workflows Experience with cloud platforms or DevOps collaboration Understanding of accessibility standards and responsive design systems Passion for wellness, fitness, or mission-driven products What We Offer Remote-first work environment Flexibility and autonomy Opportunity to shape frontend architecture and engineering standards Fast-paced startup environment with strong growth opportunities Exposure to modern AI-driven engineering workflows Opportunity to build meaningful products that improve workplace wellbeing and culture
