Senior Full Stack Engineer

Location : Fully remote. Prefer EU/Eastern Europe residents/location. Acceptable timezones: GMT-2 - GMT+2 Language: English is the primary working language at Civic. Reporting : The Senior Full Stack Engineer will report to the VP of Engineering. Position overview : Civic is seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer experienced in building high-quality, scalable solutions in a fast-paced, Agile, and fully distributed team. You will be responsible for the architecture, implementation, and testing of responsive, secure, and user-friendly web and blockchain applications. You’ll also collaborate with our product team, clients, and external service providers to continuously improve our products. Key Responsibilities Design & Architecture: Analyze business requirements, propose solutions, and architect full-stack applications (front-end, back-end, and occasional blockchain components). Serverless & Cloud Integration: Implement serverless back-ends (Next.js, Kubernetes), leveraging modern relational DB ORMs (e.g., Prisma, Drizzle) and cloud-native services (AWS Lambda). Front-End Development: Build secure, responsive, and user-friendly applications using React & Next.js. Blockchain Components: Integrate with blockchain technologies (Ethereum, Solana) for smart contract interactions (Solidity, Rust). Security & IAM: Implement security best practices (JWT, OAuth, OpenID Connect) and data-protection strategies for robust IAM solutions. Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with product teams and external partners to ensure features meet user needs. Testing & Deployment: Write reusable, testable code (Vitest, Jest, Cypress), and set up CI/CD workflows (GitHub Actions) as needed. Requirements: 5+ years of professional experience as a Senior or Lead Engineer . Proven system design expertise and a deep understanding of microservice architecture principles. Experience building Serverless , cloud-native systems (ideally on AWS). 2+ years of professional experience with JavaScript and TypeScript . Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes . Front-end proficiency with modern React (React 16+) and Next.js . Familiarity with UI tools such as Tailwind, and shadcn is a plus. Blockchain exposure (Ethereum, Solana) is a bonus but not required. Strong grounding in web application security and IAM concepts (JWT, OAuth, OpenID Connect). Familiarity with modern ORM tools like Prisma or Drizzle is preferred. Familiarity with AI tools (Claude, Copilot, ChatGPT) in a professional engineering context. Comfort and skill in a remote-working environment with excellent communication and collaboration.
