Senior Full Stack Engineer

Job Description:

• Design, build, and maintain software connecting RFID readers, handheld devices, asset tracking, inventory, and operational workflows.
• Own end-to-end backend services, APIs, and data models for configuration, asset records, event processing, reporting, and customer-system integrations.
• Integrate hardware and readers via vendor SDKs, APIs, and network protocols, ensuring resilient communication and troubleshooting issues across application code, hardware, networks, and databases.
• Implement reliable asynchronous event processing to handle device disconnects, restarts, duplicate reads, and partial deliveries without data loss.
• Develop clean, practical web interfaces with modern frontend frameworks for setup and daily operations, ensuring clear visibility into active, pending, or failed system states.
• Manage schema design, data migration, transactions, and concurrency to preserve identity, relationships, and history.
• Package, test, and deploy applications across hosted and customer-operated environments, ensuring reproducible setups, upgrades, backups, and recovery.
• Write automated tests, maintain clear technical documentation, and champion secure engineering practices (server-side permissions, protected credentials, and secure transport).

Job Requirements:

• Backend Expertise: Demonstrated hands-on ownership of production software using Java and Spring.
• Database & Data Integrity: Strong SQL and relational database skills, including schema evolution, transaction management, concurrency, and data integrity.
• Systems Integration: Proven experience integrating external systems via SDKs, APIs, or network protocols, with strong debugging skills for asynchronous failures, retries, and network edge cases (direct RFID experience is a plus, not mandatory).
• Frontend Capabilities: Practical frontend development skills with a modern framework to build and maintain complete, functional operational web workflows.
• DevOps & Testing: Hands-on experience with automated testing, CI/CD build/release pipelines, version control, and maintaining production deployments.
• AI-Assisted Engineering: Proficiency using AI coding assistants and agents to implement, refactor, debug, and test code, paired with strong independent code-review judgment and confidential data protection.
• Security & Operations: Working knowledge of server permissions, secure credential handling, centralized logging, and recovery protocols.
• Soft Skills & Autonomy: Strong ability to work autonomously in a distributed remote team, clarify ambiguous requirements into concrete acceptance criteria, and deliver maintainable architecture.
• Nice to Have: Familiarity with RFID/IoT hardware (FEIG, Zebra), SQL Server, Windows services/Linux, Kotlin/Android, Microsoft Entra SSO, or legacy-to-modern system migrations.
