Job Description
This is a remote position.
Remote | Full time | UTC+5 to UTC+10, UTC+8 preferred
Our client is an established B2B SaaS company whose platform runs accommodation and transportation management for remote workforce operations in mining, energy, and construction. Their customers run around the clock, so performance and reliability matter 24/7.
This is a senior, hands-on full-stack engineering role with a strong emphasis on backend development, SQL Server, and production systems. You'll be the senior engineering point of contact in Asia-Pacific on a mature C#, SQL Server, and Angular platform. Your work spans the full lifecycle: building product features, delivering client implementations and enhancements, connecting the platform to client systems, keeping production healthy, and sharing ownership of code review and releases with our senior engineers. You'll work Asia-Pacific business hours alongside the regional implementation and customer success team, with regular early-morning overlap with senior engineers in the Americas.
Why this role stands out
• Work on a category-leading software product for remote workforce accommodation and transportation management.
• Play a key role in modernizing an established enterprise platform, helping shape its architecture, performance, and future development.
• Work in Claude Code from day one, alongside engineers who use it every day.
• Help shape how the team works with Claude Code, from project instructions and reusable skills to the standard for reviewing AI-written code.
• Take ownership of key engineering initiatives in Asia-Pacific, working directly with leadership and influencing technical decisions.
• Work on complex, real-world challenges for enterprise customers across Asia-Pacific, North America, and beyond.
• A positive, collaborative team that keeps the focus on the work, not office politics.
What you'll be doing
Own customer delivery in Asia-Pacific
• Be the technical point person on new client implementations, primarily in Australia, Papua New Guinea, and Indonesia, stepping in at any stage from scoping through go-live.
• Work alongside the engineering manager on scoping and prioritizing client work, and collaborate directly with enterprise client teams when required.
• Build and support data imports and integrations with customer systems such as HRIS, ERP, access control and door locks, and single sign-on.
• Roll out new features and platform enhancements to clients that are already live on the platform.
Build the product
• Build features end to end across the Angular front end, REST APIs, and SQL Server stored procedures, from Jira ticket to production.
• Hand off well-scoped tasks to Claude Code and steer each one from plan to a change that's ready to merge.
• Move legacy reports into the web app and speed up the slow queries behind them.
• Use Claude Code to automate repetitive work, where possible.
Keep production healthy
• Act as first technical responder for escalated issues during your hours: buggy deploys, slow reports, failed imports, scheduled jobs, and API performance.
• Find the root cause of recurring problems, such as stored procedures that break on deploy.
• Keep runbooks current and leave a written hand-off for the Americas team at the end of each day.
Review and release
• Review and approve pull requests across the backend, database, and Angular code, leaving comments the Americas team can act on when their day starts.
• Pair AI review with your own: use Copilot on pull requests, have Claude Code and Codex check each other's work, and make the final call on what merges.
• Support production releases, troubleshoot deployment issues, and improve the reliability and automation of database deployments across customer environments.
Tech environment
• Backend: C# on .NET Framework, REST APIs, WCF services
• Database: Microsoft SQL Server, stored procedures, SQL Agent jobs
• Frontend: Angular and TypeScript
• Cloud and delivery: Azure, IIS, Windows services, GitHub, GitHub Actions
• Tools: Jira, Confluence
• AI: Claude Code, Codex, GitHub Copilot
• Integrations: Payment gateways, access control and door lock platforms, ERP and HRIS systems, point-of-sale systems, single sign-on
What we're looking for
• 6+ years of professional C# and .NET development, with the backend as your strength.
• Deep Microsoft SQL Server skills: writing stored procedures, diagnosing slow queries, and writing scripts that are safe to run in production.
• Experience building and maintaining REST APIs and service-oriented code (WCF or similar), and enough Windows Server and IIS knowledge to deploy and troubleshoot them.
• Solid working knowledge of Angular and TypeScript: you can build a new screen or fix an existing one end to end, from the component through to the API it calls.
• Experience reviewing, approving, and merging other developers' pull requests.
• Hands-on release and CI/CD experience: release branches, build and deploy pipelines, and hotfixes across branches.
• Experience debugging production issues calmly in a large legacy codebase where automated test coverage is still growing, and the habit of reading existing code before changing it.
• You've shipped production work with Claude Code or Codex, not just tried it. Claude Code experience is preferred.
• Fluent written and spoken English, and the ability to explain technical issues clearly to customer IT staff and non-engineers.
• Comfortable working with clients on platform issues on your own and knowing when to escalate.
Nice to have
• Experience tuning SQL Server performance, or adding automated tests around legacy code.
• Experience with Azure and with automating database deployments.
• Experience writing project instructions or reusable skills for coding agents.
• Experience building business reports and data grids, including moving legacy reports to the web.
• Industry experience in hospitality, travel, mining, or booking systems.
Hours and location
• Based in UTC+5 to UTC+10. UTC+8 is preferred, as it best fits our customers and regional team.
• Must be regularly available for early-morning overlap with the Americas engineering team, especially during the first year for training, collaboration, and shadowing. Availability for part of the overlap window is required on a regular basis, with exact hours varying according to the senior engineers’ schedules.
• Outside the required overlap, hours are flexible across the Asia-Pacific working day and set by client need.
How we hire
Our hiring process typically includes:
1. A screening interview with a recruiter.
2. A conversation with a senior engineer and the engineering manager.
3. A live coding session that tests you in the stack you'll work in: C#/.NET, SQL Server, and Angular. It may include an AI coding assistant, so we can see how you work alongside AI: how you plan with it, review what it writes, and decide what to keep.
