Position Overview

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a key role in building, strengthening, and scaling Sanam's platform. You will work closely with the technical and product teams to develop reliable backend services, improve the existing architecture, and deliver production-ready features.

This is a hands-on engineering role requiring strong, professional experience with Golang. Candidates without relevant Golang experience will not be considered.

Key Responsibilities

• Backend Development: Design, build, test, and maintain scalable backend services using Golang.
• Architecture & Scalability: Contribute to architectural decisions and improve the platform's performance, reliability, and scalability.
• API Development: Build and maintain secure APIs, microservices, and third-party integrations.
• Engineering Excellence: Write clean, maintainable code and uphold strong standards across testing, documentation, and code reviews.
• Production Ownership: Troubleshoot production issues and improve monitoring, logging, security, and system resilience.
• Database Performance: Design and optimize database schemas, queries, and data-access patterns.
• Collaboration: Work closely with product, engineering, and DevOps stakeholders to translate requirements into reliable technical solutions.
• Team Contribution: Mentor other engineers and contribute to a collaborative, accountable remote engineering culture.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Mandatory Skill: Strong hands-on experience building and operating production systems using Golang.
• Experience: At least 5 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Systems Architecture: Proven experience building scalable APIs, microservices, or distributed systems.
• Databases: Strong knowledge of relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.
• Technical Fundamentals: Solid understanding of concurrency, data structures, algorithms, design patterns, and system architecture.
• Engineering Practices: Experience with automated testing, Git, code reviews, and CI/CD workflows.
• DevOps & Cloud: Familiarity with Docker and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
• Problem Solving: Ability to diagnose production issues and optimize system performance and reliability.
• Communication & Work Style: Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
• Language: Professional working proficiency in English.

Preferred Experience

• Experience with Kubernetes and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools.
• Familiarity with gRPC, event-driven architecture, Kafka, or RabbitMQ.
• Knowledge of Redis, NoSQL databases, and caching strategies.
• Experience with observability and monitoring tools.
• Previous exposure to travel technology, multi-sided marketplaces, SaaS platforms, or payment integrations.
• Experience mentoring engineers or owning significant technical initiatives.
